HORRIBLE

HORRIBLE! Been with them since 2003, they raised the priced from $4.95 to $39.95! Non-existent customer support. Their interface is clunky and hasn't been improved in 20 years. They do not respond when you complain about anything.

THEY DON'T CARE. DO NOT USE THEM.

Don’t even consider using this email provider!

I have been a customer of Spamarrest for many years; when I started using them the fee was about $5/Mo, now they are charging almost $40/Mo.
Their customer service has never been any good & the site often goes off line for short periods; but, the technology is quite good.
However, $40/Mo for a below average email provider is way over the top. My guess is it got bought by a hedge fund & they are milking it; or, the current owner is just trying to see how much he can raise fees. Given that it is very hard to get your email addresses “out” of all your internet log-ins, the switching costs to extricate yourself from their system are very high. Now that the fee is this high, I expect they will put themselves out of business & if one has not gone through the process to make the log-in changes in an orderly way, trust me, you will be in a world of hurt!
Stay away from them!!!

650% price increase: Spam Arrest's apparent death wish

Like others, I'd used Spam Arrest for many years - nearly 20 in my case. Occasionally there was an annoying outage for up to 2 days - no explanation! - but basically it worked pretty well.

I would pay a two-year subscription: last time, this was $109.95, I think. Not much per month.

Now, they have suddenly changed to a monthly subscription only - of $29.95. Effectively, a 650% increase which, even in these days of increased costs and high inflation, is frankly iniquitous.

I can't see Spam Arrest surviving this. Do they have a death wish? My own ISP's spam filter nowadays seems much more efficient than when I first joined Spam Arrest so, with a slight sadness after all these years, I have cancelled my subscription and un-hitched myself from Spam Arrest. And it's adieu, I think, rather than au revoir.

I used spam arrest for years

I used spam arrest for years and it always did a decent job of catching spam.

I repeatedly asked them to improve their web interface it was absolutely horrible in some cases you couldn't read emails at all and all they ever said in response was use a regular e-mail client like outlook.

Now they have raised their price to $30 per month.

BYE BYE!

Spamarrest is a great service and…

Spamarrest is a great service and blocks spam better than any other service, platform, software, or technical methodology I've used.
Having said that, it's not perfect. First, you need to manage your emails. You need to know if an important email is coming so you can proactively authorize it. Being an IT professional (and an adult) I am more than happy to do this. My only other problems with Spamarrest are that it doesn't force HTTPS on their website, and once in a while their web interface is horribly slow. Sometime's it takes 30 minutes for an email to come through instead of 1 minute. All in all, I'm very happy with Spamarrest. So happy, in fact, that I bought a lifetime subscription.

Scamarrest would be a better name for…

Scamarrest would be a better name for this lot. I closed my account when they increased their charges from $50.00 for six months to $30 a month but reopened it recently in order to access some old emails.
So far, over a period of a week, they have charged my debit card six times for the $30 monthly charge, and I had to pay an additional $10 to get a response from them. So far endless "our accounting team are looking into this" responses.
And to add insult to injury the account has been set up so that it can only send emails, not receive them, and, again, it's being "looked into".
My advice: don't touch these sharks with a bargepole.

Like Trying to Get Rid of Herpes

I've used SpamArrest for over 10 years. I am considering canceling. The customer service, or lack thereof, is the worst. They can't even screenshare on a Mac. The new charges and autorenewals are maddening. I would never recommend them. I feel like I just contracted herpes--can't fix simple issues.

Crummy Service

LIke others here, two of us have been with Spam Arrest since the beginning. Contacted them regarding the dramatic increase in fees - no response. $60 a month - no thank you. Gmail is handling our spam just fine. Goodbye Spam Arrest

Challenge-response email validation is…

Challenge-response email validation is still a highly effective spam solution for the end-user, despite the many caveats; I'd used Spamarrest for many years. Having said that, since they are bumping up even their personal accounts up to a stratospheric $30/mo U.S., I will be moving on when my annual renewal expires.

Increase from $100 to $360/yr. is a deal breaker!

Like other reviewers here, I have been with Spamarrest for years, since 2005 with few complaints. We know that the "challenge-response" email system upsets people, but I got into the habit of manually approving or rejecting messages from unverified senders before the challenge email is even needed. I don't even mind the antiquated UI.

Main gripe is the terse, ungrateful, unapologetic announcement of a fee increase from $100/yr to $360/yr, as others have written about here. I don't know if they are deliberately trying to offload customers or what.

I was lucky enough to find a replacement that doesn't use challenge-response, but does everything else, seemingly as well or better for a lot less money. I hope I am allowed to mention the name here. It's MailWasher Pro and I recently got a lifetime subscription for $100.

10 years as a customer and I'm going to…

10 years as a customer and I'm going to have to leave. Too often now I'll go to my Mac to be told that Log in to my mail account has failed & the server is timed out signing in to the website. Eventually, someone will turn up in the office and switch the whole thing off & on again and they'll tell me there are no problems. It seems as though they are stuck in time with no developement or improvements, but, an ever increasing cost. Where is the money going?

Don't even consider using SpamArrest -
16 years ago I subscribed to SpamArrest to mitigate the excessive spam we were receiving on our 4 business email addresses. It was effective, and reasonably priced at under $100 per year. For the past few years SpamArrest has had technical issues where I could not access my account, at times up to 2 days at a time. Their customer service was remiss. However, I stayed with them, perhaps out of habit. That changed recently when they increased their pricing to $360 per year. At best, their service was only worth $8.33 per month, not $30. It should be noted that during the 16 years I subscribed to their service I never observed any improvements to their service that would benefit the subscriber. They never even updated their homepage. I strongly suggest that you avoid this company.

spamarrest was OK when I began but now it's disappointing

spamarrest was OK when I began with the company over 5 years ago. the product seeks to filter out spam messages from your mailbox and then section them for your review. If you prefer, you can ignore them and they'll be deleted after 3 days.
The downside is that their interface is archaic. There is an option to "try our new beta version" that has remained the same for over 3 years. In other words there has been no software improvement on what is a slow and clunky architecture. Yet their pricing has certainly progressed. They make it hard to leave by pushing a spamarrest mail-name on you. AVOID

Been a subscriber since early 2000

Been a subscriber since early 2000, Recently I requested service and tech assistance. I submitted the form, but received no response. After all these years of being a loyal subscriber, I feel abandoned with no way to talk with anyone even after providing my phone number.

Double Billing Fraud!

So they billed me for a two-year subscription on 03/23/21 which was supposed to last until 03.22.23, but then on 12/17/22 they started billing me every month so essentially they have double billed me - and going from $109.95 for 2 years to $720 for 2 years is a 700% increase - that too WITHOUT any prior notification!!!!! I have copies of their invoices to prove this.

I have a lifetime subscription to…

I have a lifetime subscription to Spamarrest. The secret is to turn off the challenge emails and to police your own unverified emails. I have done this for more than a decade and it works well. NO ONE wants to receive challenge emails. If I get them, I ignore them. It's my job to "white list" the people from whom I receive email. Their service has undergone some growing pains in recent years. I use their service to pull and send business email through my author domain. It works perfectly 99% of the time. Those of you with complaints are probably using the stupid challenge email. Turn it off and go to the site and police your own unverified mail instead. You'll see a world of difference. Great service and immediate responses to customer service issues.

SpamArrest Avoid at All Cost

I've been using SpamArrest for more than 5 years.
It takes a lot of work to pick out the legitimate emails from the Unverified emails folder because of the unbelievable amount of spam.
When I switched back to my email provider's server I was happy that the bulk of the spam is being filtered at the email server level so I have been seeing much less spam.
I've had problems sending emails through the SpamArrest servers. This includes being completely unable to send emails for more than half a day. At times I've also had trouble receiving emails through the SpamArrest servers. There were either significant delays or senders received an error message.
Needless to say that I have abandoned SpamArrest and would not recommend it to anyone.

I've been a customer for over 10 years

I've been a customer for over 10 years, I stopped receiving my emails via Spamarrest for 3 days and had major difficulty logging in and kept getting timeout messages, which was a disaster when expecting emails but cannot read them. The risk of using Spamarrest is now too high, and sadly I'm closing the account. I suggest invest in faster servers and quicker response support otherwise others will close their accounts too.
