DECISIONS AND NOTIFICATIONS

Congressional begins accepting applications in September of the previous academic year. Although Congressional has a rolling admissions policy, all application materials must be submitted by mid January, in order to be considered in the first round of decisions. Applicants are notified of first-round admission decisions in early March. Completed applications submitted after the first round deadline are reviewed by the Admission Committee and decisions are made once all application materials are submitted.

Our Admission Committee is comprised of the Director of Enrollment Management and Financial Aid, the Division Director of the division for which the student is applying, and relevant faculty members. The committee considers a student's visit, teacher recommendations, academic record including transcripts and test scores, learning style, and overall school experience. Collectively, these indicators must establish that a student is performing at or above grade level and is capable of academic success in our program. In making admission decisions, the committee seeks to create a well-balanced and diverse student body, and aims to admit students who will be successful both academically and developmentally.

Congressional takes great pride in the diversity of its student body. We admit children of any race, color, creed, and national or ethnic origin. The school reserves the right to give preference to children of current families and staff members. Students entering our preschool program must be fully toilet-trained before admission.
