Jani Hakanpaa DAL D
Stars' Jani Hakanpaa: Not practicing
2h agoHakanpaa (lower body) has yet to return to practice, Lia Assimakopoulos of The Dallas Morning News reports Saturday.
Hakanpaa is likely not an option for Saturday's Game 3 or Monday's Game 4 versus Vegas, and if the Stars don't win one of those games, their season is over. Hakanpaa's continued absence will keep Nils Lundkvist in the lineup on the third pairing. Hakanpaa can be considered out indefinitely until he resumes practicing with the team.
-
Haydn Fleury TB D
Lightning's Haydn Fleury: Won't play Saturday
3h agoFleury (undisclosed) isn't expected to play in Game 4 against Florida on Saturday, per the NHL media site.
Fleury had a goal, five points, 31 hits and 40 blocks in 24 regular-season outings. He hasn't been in the lineup since April 6 because of the injury. If Fleury had been available for Game 4, he might have served as the seventh defenseman or been a healthy scratch.
-
Mikhail Sergachev TB D
Lightning's Mikhail Sergachev: Surprise return Saturday
4h agoSergachev (leg) was activated off long-term injured reserve, per the NHL media site, which sets him up to return for Game 4 against Florida on Saturday.
Sergachev was previously ruled out for at least the first round, so his speedy return is a huge surprise. With Tampa Bay facing a 3-0 deficit in the series, his teammates need all the help they can get to stave off elimination. If the defenseman hadn't come back now, then it might have been too late. He had two goals, 19 points, 36 hits and 70 blocks in 34 regular-season appearances. While Sergachev typically serves in a top-four capacity, his minutes might be limited in his first contest since Feb. 7.

Andrei Vasilevskiy TB G
Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Starting Game 4
4h agoVasilevskiy will protect the home net Saturday versus Florida in Game 4, per Chris Krenn of the Lightning's official site.
Vasilevskiy has gone 0-3 this postseason, surrendering nine goals on 94 shots (.904 save percentage). The Lightning need a victory Saturday to avoid a four-game sweep, and the team should get a boost from having Mikhail Sergachev (leg) back in the lineup.

Brenden Dillon WPG D
Jets' Brenden Dillon: Questionable for Sunday
4h agoDillon (hand) didn't suffer any muscle or tendon damage after being cut by a skate during a scrum at the end of Friday's 6-2 loss to Colorado in Game 3. Although it's great news that he didn't sustain a more serious injury, the 33-year-old defenseman did require stitches and remains questionable for Game 4 versus the Avalanche on Sunday, Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press reports Saturday.
Dillon has three assists, four PIM, 12 hits and six blocks while averaging 21:04 of ice time across three playoff contests this year. He also accumulated eight goals, 20 points, 92 PIM, 241 hits and 111 blocks in 77 regular-season outings. If Dillon can't play Sunday, Logan Stanley will likely draw into the lineup.
-
Derek Forbort BOS D
Bruins' Derek Forbort: Removed from LTIR
4h agoForbort (undisclosed) was activated from long-term injured reserve Saturday, per the NHL media site.
Forbort sat out the final 20 games of the regular season and Boston's first three playoff contests. He will be an option to play in Game 4 against Toronto on Saturday, but it wouldn't be surprising if he served as a healthy scratch. The 32-year-old blueliner earned four assists, 22 shots on goal, 65 blocked shots and 68 hits in 35 appearances during the 2023-24 campaign.
-
Radek Faksa DAL C
Stars' Radek Faksa: Game-time call Saturday
6h agoFaksa (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision Saturday for Game 3 against the Golden Knights, Lia Assimakopoulos of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Faksa has yet to record a point in the playoffs after posting seven goals and 19 points in the regular season. If Faksa ultimately can't suit up, Ty Dellandrea would likely slot into the lineup in a bottom-six role.
-
Bobby McMann TOR C
Maple Leafs' Bobby McMann: Nearing return to ice
9h agoPer Terry Koshan of The Toronto Sun, McMann (lower body) is getting closer to returning to practice, according to coach Sheldon Keefe.
McMann missed the last two games of the regular season and will miss his fourth straight playoff contest Saturday after being injured versus Detroit on April 13. McMann was a pleasant surprise during the 2023-24 campaign, racking up 15 goals, nine assists and 117 hits in 56 appearances. He remains a possibility to return to action in the latter part of the opening round versus the Bruins.

J.T. Miller VAN C
Canucks' J.T. Miller: Two PP points in Game 3 win
9h agoMiller produced a goal and an assist, both on the power play, during Friday's 2-1 win over the Predators in Game 3.
The 31-year-old center opened the scoring midway through the first period by snapping a shot past Juuse Saros from above the faceoff circle, and Miller then helped set up Brock Boeser for the winner early in the second frame. Miller has a goal and three points through three postseason games, and he'll try to keep rolling in Game 4 on Sunday as the Canucks try to take a 3-1 series lead.
-
Mika Zibanejad NYR C
Rangers' Mika Zibanejad: Two helpers in Game 3 win
9h agoZibanejad notched two assists, one on the power play, in Friday's 3-1 Game 3 win over the Capitals.
Zibanejad has back-to-back two-point performances, racking up one goal and four helpers during a three-game point streak. The 31-year-old center has helped put the Rangers on the brink of a first-round sweep of the Caps.
-
Vincent Trocheck NYR C
Rangers' Vincent Trocheck: Shines on special teams Friday
9h agoTrocheck scored a power-play goal and added a shorthanded assist in Friday's 3-1 Game 3 win over the Capitals.
That's back-to-back two-point efforts for the 30-year-old as the Rangers move closer to sweeping the Caps. Friday's power-play tally was Trocheck's first since March 9, but he has two goals and five points through three playoff games -- a big turnaround after he finished the regular season with zero goals and two assists in eight April contests.
-
Dylan Larkin DET C
Red Wings' Dylan Larkin: Sets bar higher in ninth season
11h agoLarkin finished with more points than games played for the first time in his nine-year career, adding 33 goals and 36 assists -- with 26 of those points on the power play -- across 68 contests in 2023-24.
A fierce competitor, Larkin fought to the bitter end of the regular season, and had it not been for the captain's late-season surge -- including two goals and five assists in the final four games -- the Wings wouldn't have had even the slightest hope for a playoff berth in those final moments of the 2023-24 campaign. Larkin appeared in five playoff games as a rookie in 2016, but the Wings haven't returned to the postseason since then. Staying healthy and solidifying his chemistry with Alex DeBrincat on the top line will be crucial steps in getting Larkin where he needs to be from both a fantasy standpoint and in terms of his playoff aspirations.

Stars' Mason Marchment: Game-time decision Saturday
6h agoPer Lia Assimakopoulos of The Dallas Morning News, Marchment (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision against Vegas on Saturday in Game 3, according to coach Peter DeBoer.
Marchment was injured in the third period Wednesday and did not return. Marchment set career highs in goals (22) and assists (31) over 81 regular-season contests in 2023-24. Should he be unable to go, Mavrik Bourque could enter the lineup.

-
William Nylander TOR RW
Maple Leafs' William Nylander: Expected to play Saturday
9h agoNylander (undisclosed) is likely to play in Saturday's Game 4 against the Bruins, per Chris Johnston of The Athletic.
Nylander's return should provide Toronto's lineup with a major boost as they try to even the series in Game 4. The 27-year-old winger missed the first three games of Toronto's first-round playoff matchup after posting a career-high 98 points (40 goals, 58 assists) in 82 regular-season contests.
-
Evander Kane EDM LW
Oilers' Evander Kane: Active presence in Game 3 win
18h agoKane scored a goal on four shots, dished an assist, added 15 PIM and logged three hits in Friday's 6-1 win over the Kings in Game 3.
Kane helped out on a Leon Draisaitl tally in the first period, scored a goal of his own in the second and then fought Andreas Englund to complete the Gordie Howe hat trick in the third. This was a classic Kane performance in a nutshell, with offense and physicality in equal parts. He's collected 11 hits, 14 shots on net, 15 PIM and two points through three playoff outings after being cleared following a three-game absence due to a sports hernia at the end of the regular season.
-
Nikolaj Ehlers WPG LW
Jets' Nikolaj Ehlers: Manages helper
18h agoEhlers produced an assist and two shots on goal in Friday's 6-2 loss to the Avalanche in Game 3.
Ehlers' helper was his first point in three playoff contests. The winger has added nine shots on net with a minus-2 rating so far. He saw just 12:57 of ice time Friday, which suggests he could be at risk of dropping in the lineup if the Jets continue to lag behind the Avalanche in the series.

He has allowed seven goals on 71 shots (.901 save percentage) against the Lightning in the opening round. Bobrovsky also had a stellar regular season, going 37-22-6 with a 2.42 GAA and a .921 save percentage. Florida can advance to the second round of the playoffs with a victory in Game 4.

Logan Thompson LV G
Golden Knights' Logan Thompson: Set to start Saturday
6h agoThompson is expected to start at home in Game 3 against Dallas on Saturday, per Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Thompson has helped Vegas win the opening two games of the first-round series by stopping 46 of 50 shots (.920 save percentage). That's part of a larger hot streak in which he's posted a 2.12 GAA and a .925 save percentage over his past 13 appearances. Dallas ranked third offensively in the regular season with 3.59 goals per contest, so the Stars shouldn't be taken lightly, even after being defeated by Vegas twice.

Andersen was also outstanding in the regular season, going 13-2-0 with a 1.84 GAA and a .932 save percentage in 16 appearances.
-
Charlie Lindgren WAS G
Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Gets little help in Game 3 loss
9h agoLindgren stopped 19 shots Friday during a 3-1 loss to the Rangers in Game 3 of the Capitals' first-round series.
John Carlson opened the scoring with a somewhat fluky goal early in the first period, but Lindgren gave up the lead less than a minute later when Chris Kreider tipped home a long-range shot, and the Rangers never looked back. The 30-year-old netminder has given up 11 goals on 81 shots through three playoff games, and while that shaky save percentage isn't entirely his fault, Lindgren's still begun the playoffs with three straight losses, leaving Washington on the brink of elimination.
