Conor Sheary TB LW
Rangers' Conor Sheary: Getting PTO with NYR
4h agoSheary has been signed by the Rangers to a PTO, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports.
Sheary and the Lightning agreed to terminate his contract earlier this offseason, and he had been a free agent to this point, but the Rangers will give him a chance to make their NHL club with this tryout contract. Should he make the team, he will reunite with the coach he played for, and won Stanley Cups with, when he was a Penguin in Mike Sullivan. Coming off of a season in which he played just five games at the NHL level, the onus is now on the 33-year-old to prove that he still has some gas left in the tank and can contribute to a NHL roster. If he does, it will likely be in no more than a depth role.

Oskar Olausson COL RW
Sharks' Oskar Olausson: Acquired from Colorado
7h agoOlausson was acquired by the Sharks from the Avalanche on Friday in exchange for Danil Gushchin.
Olausson had 11 goals and 15 assists in 61 regular-season games with AHL Colorado in 2024-25, and he also recorded three assists in seven postseason outings. The 22-year-old will get a change of scenery via this trade and will likely start the 2025-26 campaign in the minors. He has appeared in four NHL games, including two with the Avalanche last season, in his young career.

Danil Gushchin SJ LW
Avalanche's Danil Gushchin: Traded Friday
8h agoGushchin was acquired by Colorado from San Jose on Friday in exchange for Oskar Olausson. Per CBS, Gushchin signed one-year, two-way contract with the Avalanche as well.
Gushchin had 28 goals, 51 points and 34 PIM across 56 regular-season outings with AHL San Jose in 2024-25. He also recorded an assist, six PIM and six hits in 12 appearances with the Sharks. The 23-year-old will probably start 2025-26 in the minors.

Maxim Tsyplakov NYI RW
Islanders' Maxim Tsyplakov: Signs two-year contract
12h agoTsyplakov penned a two-year, $4.5 million contract with the Islanders on Friday, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.
Tsyplakov and the Islanders were slated to go to arbitration but avoid it with the deal. The 26-year-old had an up-and-down rookie season with New York, generating 10 goals and 25 assists across 77 regular-season contests. Tsyplakov is likely to see a middle-six role in 2025-26 and is expected to put up similar numbers as he did last season.

Jackson Blake CAR RW
Hurricanes' Jackson Blake: Locks in long-term with Carolina
1d agoBlake signed an eight-year, $45 million contract extension with the Hurricanes on Thursday, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
Blake is entering the final year of his entry-level contract in 2025-26, but his long-term future with the Hurricanes is now secure. The 21-year-old put up 17 goals, 34 points, 141 shots on net and a plus-10 rating over 80 regular-season appearances in 2024-25 and added six points in 15 playoff outings. He's already established himself as a regular in the top six and should also see time on the second power-play unit at a minimum. There's some risk of a sophomore slump this year, but Blake has a bright future ahead while playing for a perennial contender.

Brett Berard NYR LW
Rangers' Brett Berard: Says he'll be ready for camp
1d agoBerard said Thursday that he was removed from the Team USA roster for the 2025 IIHF World Championship due to a torn labrum, but he expects to be ready for training camp this fall, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports.
The exact nature of Berard's injury wasn't previously known, but he clarified Thursday that he tore his labrum during the 2024-25 NHL season and didn't require surgery, but he was held out for Team USA. However, he was already expected to be ready for the start of camp, so it wasn't very surprising to hear him reiterate that fact. The 22-year-old made 35 appearances for the Rangers last year and logged six goals, four assists, 53 hits, 20 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating while averaging 10:43 of ice time.

Thomas Bordeleau NJ C
Devils' Thomas Bordeleau: Inks one-year contract
2d agoBordeleau (concussion) signed a one-year, two-way contract with New Jersey on Thursday.
The 23-year-old was dealt earlier in the month from San Jose in exchange for Shane Bowers. Bordeleau played 44 regular-season games with the Sharks across four seasons, scoring six times and adding 12 assists. He spent most of last season with AHL San Jose, tallying 14 goals and 24 assists across 59 regular-season appearances. He will likely spend most of the 2025-26 campaign with AHL Utica, barring a slew of injuries up front for the Devils.
-
Ethan Czata TB C
Lightning's Ethan Czata: Signs entry-level contract
3d agoCzata signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Lightning on Wednesday.
Czata was selected by the Lightning in the second round of the 2025 NHL Draft, and he was able to come to terms with the organization just under a month later. He made 68 regular-season appearances with OHL Niagara last year and racked up 21 goals and 34 assists. The 18-year-old will likely require more time to develop before he's in the mix to make his NHL debut.
-
Ryan Suzuki CAR C
Hurricanes' Ryan Suzuki: Pens one-year deal
4d agoSuzuki signed a one-year, two-way contract with Carolina on Monday.
Suzuki made his NHL debut in January but was held off the scoresheet in two regular-season games. The 24-year-old fared much better with AHL Chicago, generating 12 goals and 47 assists across 69 regular-season outings. The 2019 first-round pick will most likely spend the majority of 2025-26 in the minors since the Hurricanes have plenty of depth up front.

Gabriel Vilardi WPG C
Jets' Gabriel Vilardi: Signs big contract
7d agoVilardi signed a six-year, $45 million contract with the Jets on Friday, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.
Vilardi was a restricted free agent who would have gone to arbitration if he hadn't agreed to terms with Winnipeg. The 25-year-old recorded 27 goals and 61 points in 71 regular-season outings with the Jets in 2024-25. It was his third straight 20-plus goal season, but he shattered his previous career high of 41 points, which was set in 2022-23. His new cap hit suggests Winnipeg anticipates his 2024-25 production being his new normal. He's projected to serve on Winnipeg's top line and first power-play unit in the upcoming campaign, and he should maintain that role for years to come.
-
Dakota Joshua TOR C
Maple Leafs' Dakota Joshua: Acquired for pick
8d agoJoshua was brought in by the Leafs on Thursday from the Canucks in exchange for a 2028 fourth-round pick.
Joshua is coming off a disappointing 2024-25 campaign with Vancouver in which he failed to reach the 20-point threshold for the first time since 2021-22 -- a problem that was in no small part caused by his 57 regular-season appearances. If he can stay healthy this season, Joshua should be capable of locking down a middle-six role with the Leafs, though he's far from a lock to avoid stints on the fourth line or in the press box.
-
Rory Kerins CGY C
Flames' Rory Kerins: Signs one-year contract
8d agoKerins penned a one-year, two-way contract with Calgary on Thursday.
Kerins led the AHL Wranglers in scoring last year during the regular season, potting 33 goals and adding 28 assists across 63 games. He made his NHL debut with the Flames last season, generating four assists in five games. Kerins is a bubble player at this time, but a strong training camp could garner him a job as a third-line winger.

John Ludvig COL D
John Ludvig: Signs with Czech club
3d agoLudvig agreed to terms on a one-year contract with HC Dynamo Pardubice (Czechia) on Wednesday.
Ludvig saw action in just eight NHL games for the Avalanche last year in which he generated two assists, nine shots and 16 hits while averaging a mere 12:57 of ice time. The blueliner was slightly more productive in the minors, generating 12 points in 31 regular-season games for AHL Colorado, but it wasn't enough for him to earn a qualifying offer from the Avs this offseason. At just 24 years old, the door is certainly still open for Ludvig to eventually return to the NHL, though he likely faces an uphill battle to do so.
-
Drew Helleson ANA D
Ducks' Drew Helleson: Pens two-year deal
8d agoHelleson signed a two-year, $2.2 million contract with Anaheim on Friday.
Helleson established himself on the Anaheim blue line in 2024-25, playing 56 regular-season games. The 24-year-old, who was selected in the second round, 47th overall, in 2019 by Colorado, generated four goals, nine assists, 47 PIM, 99 hits and 73 blocked shots. He is slated to play on the third unit, alongside Olen Zellweger.
-
Louis Crevier CHI D
Blackhawks' Louis Crevier: Re-ups with club
8d agoCrevier signed a two-year, $1.8 million contract with Chicago on Thursday.
Crevier split his time between the NHL and AHL last year, making 32 appearances for the Hawks while also logging 15 games with the IceHogs. Given the one-way nature of his new deal, Crevier will likely spend less time in the minors during the 2025-26 campaign but figures to remain a fringe lineup player and will likely serve as a healthy scratch more often than not.
-
Yan Kuznetsov CGY D
Flames' Yan Kuznetsov: Re-signs with Calgary
8d agoKuznetsov signed a two-year contract with the Flames on Thursday.
Kuznetsov was a restricted free agent, so it isn't particularly surprising to see him return to the Flames. The first year of his new contract will be a two-way deal, while the second year will become a one-way agreement. Kuznetsov made 72 regular-season appearances with AHL Calgary last year and recorded six goals, 15 assists and 38 PIM.
-
Tobias Bjornfot FLA D
Panthers' Tobias Bjornfot: Lands two-way contract
9d agoBjornfot signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Panthers on Thursday.
After making a career-high 70 NHL appearances with the Kings during the 2021-22 campaign, Bjornfot has spent most of the past three seasons in the minors. He made 14 regular-season appearances in the NHL with Florida last year and was held without a point while recording 13 hits, 10 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating. The 24-year-old could join the Panthers for training camp this fall, but it seems as though he'll play mostly in the minors once again during the 2025-26 season.
-
Ty Smith CAR D
Ty Smith: Bound for Russia
9d agoSmith agreed to terms on a contract with Dinamo Minsk (KHL) on Thursday, Seth Rorabaugh of Tribune-Review Sports reports.
Smith was not given a qualifying offer by the Penguins this offseason, and it appears he has been unable to land an NHL deal. The 25-year-old blueliner saw action in eight games for the Hurricanes last year in which he generated one goal on 14 shots, one assist and two hits while averaging just 13:40 of ice time. Given his age, it's possible Smith will get another shot at an NHL deal, but he will need to impress in the KHL first.

Lukas Dostal ANA G
Ducks' Lukas Dostal: Secures long-term extension
8d agoDostal signed a five-year, $32.5 million contract extension with Anaheim on Thursday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Dostal took over as the No. 1 option in Anaheim last season, a role that was further cemented when the Ducks shipped John Gibson off to Detroit. For his part, the 25-year-old Dostal posted a 23-23-7 record in 54 games to go with a 3.10 GAA, .903 save percentage and one shutout. While Petr Mrazek figures to serve as the backup, it will be Dostal's crease heading into 2025-26.
-
Louis Domingue NYR G
Louis Domingue: Inks KHL contract
9d agoDomingue signed a one-year contract with Sibir Novosibirsk of the KHL on Thursday, Seth Rorabaugh of Tribune-Review Sports reports.
The 33-year-old netminder played one game with the Rangers during the 2024-25 regular season, stopping 25 shots in a 6-2 win over Chicago on Jan. 5. He spent most of the season with AHL Hartford, going 7-20-1 with a 3.32 GAA and a .896 save percentage across 28 appearances.

Calle Clang ANA G
Ducks' Calle Clang: Agrees to one-year contract
10d agoClang signed a one-year, two-way contract with Anaheim on Tuesday.
Clang posted a record of 11-13-4 with a 3.17 GAA and an .895 save percentage across 31 regular-season appearances for AHL San Diego in 2024-25. The 23-year-old netminder will probably spend most, if not all, of the 2025-26 campaign in the minors.
-
Arturs Silovs PIT G
Penguins' Arturs Silovs: Dealt to Steel City
12d agoPittsburgh acquired Silovs from Vancouver on Sunday in exchange for Chase Stillman and a 2027 fourth-round pick.
Silovs posted a 16-7 record with a 2.01 GAA and a .931 save percentage in 24 playoff outings en route to helping AHL Abbotsford win a Calder Cup title last campaign. Over the past three NHL regular seasons, the 24-year-old netminder has earned a record of 8-8-2 with a 3.13 GAA and an .880 save percentage across 19 appearances. Silovs could be in the mix for an increased role with the Penguins in 2025-26, especially if Tristan Jarry continues to have consistency issues.
-
Jakub Skarek NYI G
Sharks' Jakub Skarek: Agrees to one-year deal
15d agoSkarek signed a one-year, $775,000 contract with the Sharks on Thursday.
Skarek was expected to join HIFK of Finland's Liiga for the 2025-26 campaign, but it seems he decided to pursue a different opportunity. The goaltender had a 3.52 GAA and an .884 save percentage in 22 regular-season outings with AHL Bridgeport in 2024-25. He also appeared in two NHL games with the Islanders last season, posting a record of 0-1-0 with a 3.95 GAA and an .872 save percentage. The 25-year-old will probably start 2025-26 in the minors, though he might get an opportunity to play at the top level if Yaroslav Askarov or Alex Nedeljkovic miss some time due to injury.

Pyotr Andreyanov CLB G
Blue Jackets' Pyotr Andreyanov: Signs long-term deal
16d agoAndreyanov agreed to terms on a five-year contract with CSKA Moscow (KHL) on Thursday, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports.
According to Scheig, Andreyanov's deal includes a release clause after four seasons. That means the 18-year-old backstop could make the jump to North America around the 2029-30 campaign, which for goalies is right about when he would truly begin his development as an NHL netminder. In terms of fantasy, Andreyanov really only has value in terms of dynasty formats where managers can make a long-term investment.
