Not sure why they have a low rating on this site. I've been advertising with them for a couple years and they are absolutely awesome, my main source of income. If you're a legit business and you're not some common rip off company, these folks are absolutely a great place to advertise your business. I will be sure to praise and encourage people to use Thumbtack for their needs on service providers, no doubts. Seriously!

Hired Juan ** to clean/repair/seal my shower grout. Great job - very happy with the results and the price was reasonable, considering the amount of work to be done.. Highly recommend his services to all my friends and neighbors.

Excellent handyman service, but from my previous experience from using Thumbtack services, I thought the handyman service cost I hired was for the entire service, not per hour. My final cost was triple what I thought it would be. ENSURE to ask beforehand if your project cost is for the entire service or per hour when you hire someone through Thumbtack!

I used to have Thumbtack in 2017 and were able to get some leads at a fair cost. Now their prices are almost 3 times the original cost. Their leads are FAKE and the real ones doesn't match the job description you are paying for. Once you do the dispute of the charge they just deny them. The investment is not worth the return.

Thumbtack was great at first. Found an awesome handyman and some others. But now I realize they do not care about the customers. Only the contractors. I hired a furniture moving company in 2023 called Best Movers “Prince Asong” and they did a horrible job. Scratched up my flooring, over charged me, and had bad body odor. When I gave him a negative review and demanded some of the money back he saw fit to text me at 9 pm at night saying disrespectful things to me. He also so fit to believe that he was coming back to my home to return the furniture and if he didn’t he was going to charge me. Stated that I still owed him money because he had to go to the dump. WHICH IS WHAT I PAID FOR AND WANTED HIM TO DO. I wanted the furniture disposed of.

I had to file a police report in order to make sure he would not come to my home. I even filed a complaint with Thumbtack. But unfortunately, due to them being a third party, they for some reason could not refund me some of my funds due to fact that he said he was going to finish the job. Why would I want someone back in home who scratched up my floors and disrespected me? So I refused to use Thumbtack anymore after that. AND I showed them proof of what he said and what he did. Stated that I filed a police report. And they still have his company on their website!!! So Thumbtack just wants the money from these contractors. They could care less about their professionalism. I refused to use them after that horrible incident.

I've been a Thumbtack pro since 2016. They used to be fair on price per lead and you could look at them before you bought them. Now they have instant booking and it costs 30ish per lead and most of them are bad leads from customers who don't understand the minimum or book then cancel before you can contact them. They are a rip off.

As a small business I thought that Thumbtack would be a great way to grow my photography business. I have been using them for a year and soon realized that they take advantage of the contractors. They charge a large amount for leads that don't respond. They have you state your availability and then charge you for leads that want service when you are unavailable. They refuse to give refunds and customer service is terrible. They have you set your location and charge you for leads outside of the location, even out of the state! And still won't give you a refund. Their customer service sucks and can only be reached by text message. They apologize but keep your money. I'd say RUN. Don't recommend. It is just a money hole in the long run with not enough payoff. Use the money for leads for ad space, I promise you will get way more clients for less money in the long run. Thumbtack is a money stealing scam.

Thumbtack is a joke. My review is quiet simple and straightforward. Thumbtack claim is false. Thumbtack identifies everyone listed in their site as a "Pro", but, has no mechanism to qualify them if they really know what they do. In 2 jobs, I was hit with the so called 'Pro', renegotiating the price on the work start day onsite and in 1 of the jobs, the contractor left me with a ugly work, worser than it was. Clearly the contractor had no clue how to do the job and brought a helper "Pro", that was even worse.

My only reason to hire this contractor was that Thumbtack calls this person a "Pro" and I trusted Thumbtack on their claim. Contractor was not a "Pro" by any means, only it was Thumbtack's false claim. Even the contractor himself said that to me, well after he left me with an incomplete work. Thumbtack wants me to now submit a review about the contractor. So they can pit us against each other and simply watch the show. I declined, am not doing that. I would rather want Thumbtack taking ownership of their false claim and cover my loss themselves. I am not going to battle with a below grade dude. Not happening Thumbtack, you will have no show to watch.
