These guys have gone into liquidation and didn't think to mention to me (AKA one of their customers). Does anyone have any information about how to contact them and ask for my money back? Which is probably a massive long shot

Having received notice that Tuxedo and its associates had gone into liquidation, I had until 25th May to spend the money left in my account, or ask for it to be put into my bank. I spent all of it, except 13p and had no problems with using the card, both with swipe and PIN. I won't bother about the 13p, the account is now closed, but you can still access it via a smartphone, but not via a computer, as it will show a 404 Web fault.
I have put these notes on for the benefit of others.

I paid £1000 from my Tuxedo account to my daughters HSBC on 21/11/21 for her to buy Christmas presents and it still hasn't been received as of today 8/12/21 despite being taken from my account. I am unable to contact by phone as the call centre is closed and all my emails have gone unanswered. It looks like my £1000 has disappeared as the recipient's bank details were correct. One star given as you are unable to give zero.

GREEDY TUXEDO - Been with Tuxedo Prepaid for more than 8 years. They USED to be good - for paying internet bills where you weren't too sure of overseas purchases on Ebay etc. The Prepaid element gave comfort that any miscreant could not thieve too much from the prepaid account. HOWEVER, Tuxedo appear to have been taken over and a MASSIVE HIKE in already greedy fees. AVOID the Tuxedo prepaid cards until they bring their greedy fees back down. Check out prepaid card rates on MoneySupermarket dot com or similar.

I used an ATM in Fuerteventura 4 weeks ago. No money was issued, but the funds were withdrawn from my Tuxedo account.
I have tried phoning them without success - their call centres are all closed "because of COVID". I have sent a number of emails to all of the email addresses I can find, but they haven't responded.
I have also written to them this week at their published complaints address. They claim to respond within 2 business days, but I have heard nothing.
I have given onw star because it is not possible to give none. Their idea of customer services differs vastly from any other financial institution I have ever dealt with.

I have been waiting over seven months to have the funds transferred back to me after my card expired. This is without doubt the worst company I have had the misfortune to encounter. I have been left without funds, whilst out of work as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic with bills mounting. The hundreds of pounds I am owed are being deliberately withheld, impacting not only my financial but mental health. This organisation is simply not bothered, excuse after excuse and lie after lie. Tuxedo are not even worthy of a one star rating and this should simply be viewed as a means to review. I implore you - please do not give a penny or cent to this outfit.

One to avoid, terrible customer service which is slow to respond, has basic grasp of english and I will use that reason not to call them rude on every occasion. Top up is an ongoing issue where the site does not confirm your top up so I have ended up topping up twice and trying to get your money recredited is impossible. Really terrible and should not be in business

Customer care is nonexistent!!! They don't accept paperwork from covermental departments and are asking to see your pets grandparent''s f.....g passport! Seriously - if you can avoid them, don't use them. Paying money to have an account and then they just take a mick...
NB: personal experience!

Finally after seven weeks my lost £91.25 has been found, thanks to the hard work of "Janice" (one of their managers working from home) in just a couple of days. She kept me up to date with her progress as promised. I have sent numerous e-mails over the last seven weeks getting different people each time & all i experienced after giving the same information over & over again was. "i will look into it & promise to phone you back" which of course nobody ever did. I have only awarded 5 stars because of the efficiency of Janice. In my opinion she is a credit to Tuxedo. (Pity she doesn't run the company)

Important information about your Eccount Money Card
Dear Cardholder,
Following a review of the Eccount Money Prepaid Visa Card, we have made the difficult decision to close the programme. Today, we are officially giving 2 months’ notice to customers who are currently using their prepaid cards, to terminate the programme and the card.
Prior to this date you can continue to use your card to spend the remaining funds you hold on your card.
We are today providing you 10 working days’ notice, for the avoidance of doubt, 7th April 2022, after which time we will no longer be accepting further funds to your card and functionality within your online account such as viewing your balance will no longer be available.
You will continue to be able to view your balance at an ATM.
What does this mean?
On 24th May 2022 we will be formally closing the Eccount Money Prepaid Visa Card and customers will no longer be able to use their Eccount card.

This company is a disgrace. I had an STA prepaid travel card that I used until the pandemic. There is still money on it which I want to transfer to my bank account. Not only have they been taking £1a month as the account is "dormant" but they are impossible to contact. My cards are now out of date so I can't use them and I wasn't offered an updated one. I have never been contacted them about anything. Until I saw the statement on this website I didn't know the eccount was being closed. There are three different email addresses on different parts of their website but they don't respond to any of them. The telephone number is closed due to covid! I have contacted their parent company IDS financial services who also don't respond.
It is small comfort that I don't appear to be alone.

I have used Tuxedo-account (Maestro first and then Mastercard) for nearly 3 years. I have had no problems using cards in ATMs in Central and Eastern Europe. Any queries or questions have been responded to by customer services in a rapid, highly satisfactory manner

I have been unable to pay standing orders or make payments to bank accounts for over a week and next guesstimate is it will start again on 18 Dec 2018
.
This is shocking for a bank not to be able to process bill payments and transfers.
I can however keep loading my card and withdrawing cash to pay bills.
Cash withdrawal fees come now on top of the bank account fee (which we still have to pay despite not offering a banking service at this time), put together with the inability to make transfers ans payments using the banking system make me very suspicious.

I had experienced some disturbing issues with Tuxedo. First, my card was denied and I was told it had expired. This was not the case, it still had a month to run. I asked to be reimbursed my money (nearly £500|) I was asked to send in my bank details and was told that it would take up to 28 days to come through. It didn’t appear so I wrote more emails and I was told that the reimbursements had been passed to a Third Party. Finally, I wrote a review and this was picked up by Tuxedo who contacted me by phone. Janice assured me she would action my issue straight away. She was immediately onto my case and the following day, my money appeared in my account. I have to thank Janice, who has helped at least one more on this review page. I would maintain however that if Tuxedo had outlined the procedure online as to how to proceed with reimbursements there would not be as many bad reviews. As it stands, many (myself was included) determined that fraud was being practiced. Well done Janice.

I entered into a Tuxedo card scheme I was offered whereby I was told my money would be safe and I could use it as a savings account. This was 5 years ago and regular payments had been going into my account, I checked my balance regularly and the money was all in there and so I saw no issue. I was recently informed the scheme was ending and TUXEDO was soon to close their accounts and I had until the 25th May 2022 to withdraw my funds via my TUXEDO card or have a bank transfer into another account. I immediately tried my card in a cash machine but my PIN number no longer worked, I then tried contacting them over the phone to no avail. I have since emailed several times, my first contact was 31st March 2022 saying my pin was not working and I wanted my balance transferred to another account. The following day I had a reply from Amy saying she had found my account and gave me my balance, she asked for proof of name and address and account details of where I wanted the money transferring to. I immediately sent this information across the same day 1st April 2022 and have heard nothing since. I found another email address and sent all this information across again and a copy of my photo card driving licence and again I have had no response, it is now 11th April 2022 and I am still unaware what has happened to my money, could someone please help.???.This is my hard earned money, that I thought was safe?, I have a family of 5 to support and a mortgage to pay like everyone else, I really need my money I have bills to pay.
