Mainstreet small but big rewards helped me when no one else would. it’s more like a family than a bank I look to get all my needs and future endeavors through them
Always double, tripple check your receipt when you pay for your car loan over the teller. If you're not checking it, there's a possibility that it wasn't your account in the receipt and/or missing dollars. I was on a hurry because it was noon (lunch) time just to have break from work and drove to bank. What I experience was: 1st, when I drove off from the drive-up after paying, I thought it's my account and I noticed something is off or something like a gut feeling, like someone is telling you that check your receipt, so I stopped and check it again then it wasn't my account that was credited. It is someone that owns another car loan which could possibly that owner will be surprise why there is a payment amount that he/she didn't pay for. The amount is more than 1K. So I drove back and ask the drive-up teller to correct it and make sure it's in my account, then it was corrected so I assume everything was right. Then when I arrived back to work, I noticed that the amount posted wasn't right, then I drove back again to the bank but this time, I went inside instead of drive-up and ask them to add the missing amount and I explain and luckily the drive-up teller was still there and verified. Their reasoning that the machine wasn't able to read the count so the teller didn't put the actual amount which if they know, they should told me before hand.
Anyway, I think lesson learn on this from both side, for the teller, teller should ask to verify how much the amount is, ask the account holder even if the name is in the payment stub. For customers, always double, tripple check your receipt. Always verify before you drive off. The positivity side of it, is we're learning because the system has a flaws because we're just human. I put 1 star not because of bad service and because at the end of the day, the issue has been resolved by another teller even though I drove multiple times to fix the issue that I didn't cause and also 1 star means that the bank still have a long way to go and an opportunity to improve their customer service. Everyday we learn on something new and use that as an opportunity to prevent that bad experience happening again. I hope this comment will find valuable to Mainstreet and customer.

It is a user friendly opportunity. Mainstreet Credit Union is friendly, helpful and practical. Want straight talk = GO Mainstreet
I have to call every month to have the webtech reset my password. When I reset my password every month, the website always errors out, "invalid password." It will only accept my new password when the webtech changes it for me. Must have a system glitch, but no one seems able to fix it.
I do not recommend this bank. We switched 3 car loans and a motorcycle loan to Main Street Credit Union 3 months ago and I wish we hadn't. Not only was I promised my car note payment would stay the same (which actually increased $20.00), we received notification we were missing insurance docs that were actually sent to them prior to the loan process being finalized. Since they stated the insurance documents hadn't been received, we received a bill being charged for additional insurance provided by main Street Credit Union. Upon calling them and providing them with email proof these documents had been submitted, they waived the insurance fee. Even after all of that, we continued to receive notification through the app that we were missing documents. The final straw was an inquiry on an RV loan. No information was taken regarding any type of pre-approval process. It took one full business day for them to approve us for the loan, which was less than 80% of what the actual value of the RV was. Our old bank advised the RV is actually valued at over $17,000, the loan amount was to be for $14,670, and they offered us $10,000, after an initial approval of $13,000. Not only did this process waste our time, it wasted the sellers time and dinged our credit due to the inquiry. Not only will the RV loan now he done through a different bank, I will be transferring my auto loan and personal accounts back to our old bank. I am extremely dissatisfied with the communication process with this bank.

Have been using their service for almost 20 years. But today we waited too long to be serviced. Their teller service is good, and fee is low comparing to other big name banks. Also they can improve their infrastructure to allow more online activities.
Very bad bank with last minute transaction information that unkown.very poor customer service. wouldnt reccomend to anyone sorry Very fucking RACIST sorry whites only bank. Save your money at home not there
This bank will cause a hard hit to your credit. It is posted on the walls in fine print in every branch but not disclosed. I opened a checking and savings account. Did not apply for any line of credit. I was told by the branch manager it was to verify your identity, however the main office stated it is to verify if you have any history of bankruptcy. I have four bank accounts and have never had a hard credit hit outside of four mortgages and lines of credit. I had an 804 credit score that dropped to 796 as this was my 5th hard hit in two years (2 mortgages and a new car). I do not recommend this bank, and will ensure all friends and family are aware of this practice.
I used Main Street Credit Union for almost three years. They really provided top notch service. I had some problems at first getting my bank statements in the mail but it was quickly taken care of. Main Street Credit Union offered me a really competitive credit rate and I could not beat their savings account rate at the time. I really cannot say enough nice things about this credit union. Another problem I had was receiving replacement checks in a timely manner. I just adjusted when I ordered my checks to solve the problem. I would recommend Main Street Credit Union to anyone.
We have had a car loan through Mainstreet since 2009 and they are an amazing credit union. While using them, they have helped us through various bumps while they happened and have some of the best customer service we've ever seen. We had an issue where a double-payment went through on the car payment (my fault, 100%) and they refunded it to the checking account we have with them. It was so helpful and I was glad they were willing to work with us. Even when they changed their name from Johnson County Credit Union to Mainstreet, nothing bad happened, as with other institutions. We are so happy with this credit union that once we pay off a loan at our current bank we plan on transferring our account to theirs for a checking and savings. They are great and I recommend them to anyone – they are small, but don't let that scare you, they'll take care of you.
