USC Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative, which means that when you become a member, you’re more than a customer. You’re an owner. And because USC is member-owned, it doesn't have shareholders, so its profits are your profits. USC passes along those profits to you through better rates, low or no fees and... show more

Website is terrible showing incorrect running balance. When I looked at my credit card transactions, it shows the balance column, but that column doesn't show the interest charged, so that is not the correct current balance. Why would you not show the interest charges? Not good.
They have totally screwed me multiple times by shutting off my card when they are the only funds I had access to at the time, flagging it as fraud for things that make no sense- like my rent payment I’ve made the same way for months before, and for using a gas station next to where I live. The kicker is, the one time my card was actually used for fraud (3000 miles away on the east coast) they didn’t even catch it, I did - and had to call and get them to replace my card.
This is now the second time I have been left stranded, possibly having to spend the night in my car a second time now due to their negligence. The first time was when I was two hours from home with no gas, and they shut off my card for making my rent payment. I had to sleep in my car that night. Now they are telling me they “don’t have an answer for me” as to why my card is flagged, but I have to wait until Monday for an answer (and access to my funds). They always blame this on their “third party fraud detection service” which they apparently have no say or control over.
They also take any opportunity to charge overdraft fees even when I’ve had money in my account - making me have to call them to reverse them, which they always do, but waiting on hold each time is not worth it. I’m switching banks, this last shut off of my card leaving me stranded with no food all weekend was the last straw. Not everyone has the luxury of multiple bank accounts or backup funds, some of us live paycheck to paycheck and actually rely on banks giving us access to our hard earned money.
I paid of my USC MasterCard in full, and sent in payment via check. A few months later, I find out that I owe $220 in new interest, and they were not willing to waive it. Oh, and they tacked on a LATE fee. People think credit unions are better than banks, but I beg to differ. What a scam. Being that they're part of USC, no surprise.
I really enjoyed banking here. As a USC student, the location is very convenient; the credit union is located right in the middle of campus. It's a very good place to start your banking in college if you're an out of state student. While the application process takes awhile, the customer service is very considerate and helpful. They offer several services (including loans and savings accounts) that are useful in the post-graduate world. I will probably continue to use the USC Credit Union upon graduation.
USC credit union has outstanding customer service. I have had to call them a few times and each time I was very, very, impressed. The wait-time was short, and the representatives I spoke with were friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I like having a mobile App that allows me to scan checks to my account, having a low to no fee checking account and having access to co-op, partner credit unions nationwide. USC credit union offers services for every phase of life credit cards, personal and student loans, insurance, mortgages, and retirement savings.

I heard about the USC Credit Union from a final presentation in a class- and I wish I knew this was a service they offered students sooner! Setting up my account was quick and easy, and they offer free checking which is a major plus. With other banks, I had a monthly fee to use my bank account, and that seemed foolish to me. They have everything a "regular" bank has, an app, awesome people working there, and they are really willing to discuss financial information with you. My biggest worry was not being able to access an ATM quickly but that has not been a problem! I would definitely recommend the credit union to all USC students and I hope that admissions offers new students more information on using this feature that they have access to!
I am blown away by USC Credit Union's wonderful services. Never in my life have I came across a credit union that was so nice and lovely to their customers. They make you feel at ease with your money and that you are at home with their business. I love USC, and I don't think that I can think of anything negative that has happened to me, or anyone I know that uses USC. They are far underrated and they deserve more than 5 stars! The customer service I would give 4 stars actually, because I've had to wait a few minutes to be seen, but that's nothing unusual at a busy credit union like this. I LOVE USC!
This is the first credit union that I've done business with and it has been a great experience. I applied the summer before my freshman year at the school, got a free debit card, and have loved my experience with them since. They have an app that allows you to do just about anything you would want to do in person and even allow you to take pictures of checks and use them on the app for instant money transfer. Therefore, you don't even have to live on or near campus to do business with them. The customer service has been perfect thus far, but to be fair, I haven't encountered any problems with them whatsoever. I have also never been charged for a money transfer or withdrawal because of them. I don't plan on doing business with any other credit union or bank and am very pleased with the USC Credit Union.
I love USC Credit Union. If you are a true Trojan at heart then you cannot go wrong with this credit union. If you are a student, like me, then you are much better off with the free checking that USC offers. Also, convenient locations on campus are a steal. They are everywhere and what's better than a credit union in the Campus Center. I highly recommend that anyone who goes to USC uses at least their free checking. I also have a credit card and a savings account with them and I have not been disappointed at what I get. The rates are great and they have been very supportive. I lost my debit card once and they offered to replace it free of charge because I was a student. Not only did I get a free card, but they also had it mailed to me within a few days. I highly recommend them for their service and their products. Fight On!
USC Credit Union is the best! I applied for a checking account my sophomore year of college while attending USC and it was a breeze! I'm a senior now and I am so happy with their service. I signed up online and the application went smoothly. I wish I had applied for this account my freshman year. My debit card was stolen a year after I applied and I noticed that the thief had made some purchases using my card. I immediately called the credit union's number that is listed on their website. Their customer service was extremely polite and understanding and the fraudulent charge was immediately removed from my account. I have loved my experience with USC credit union, and I am happy that I can have a lifetime membership as long as I keep my accounts open. I look forward to continuing using their services after I graduate!
