My mom is 92 years old, and over the past three years, we have had nothing but trouble with Vantage. The latest issue is that my mom tried to contact them today regarding her debit card not working. She could not get through. I have been leaving messages on their Facebook page and sending emails, and I finally got in touch with a representative from Vantage who told me that they would not call my mother back. It's one of the worst businesses I have ever dealt with. My mom has been a member since 1966 and has shown loyalty to them, which she should not. It's a shame the way they treat their members, especially my 92-year-old mother.

This is regarding checking and savings, this bank doesn’t have secure online banking. My mom cancelled her debit that my sister who holding and helping her out while my health continued declining. Unfortunately she was not handling mom’s finances correctly. When we move mom back from a different city, mom wanted to Cancel card have my daughter help her due she is closed to her. Money still coming missing out her account after the fact of canceling debit card. We ordered mom another debit card and had my daughter help her with getting items and pay her room board at nursing facilities.these calling for payment but has transferred to other accounts not associated with Vantage. My mother’s accounts continue in this matter even unfortunately right her passing and I even 7 days after death. Needs more security for online banking, especially if member has cancelled a debit card and they are elderly and don’t have a clue to online banking.
I left my card in the ATM on accident. I call immediately the next morning. They automatically shred cards. This isn't on the website. They already charge $5 a month for checking att fees. To order a new card, express shipping $30. However it's 2-4 business days. My card broke 2 years ago. They sent me a new card immediately, like 2 calendars days. I called on a Friday that time and this time. I'm going to First Community after this.
I’ve had an account with vcu since I was 17. Got a secured card in 2012 always pay on time. I ask to increase my limit and was asked to show proof of something I already paid off on my credit report. Discover didn’t even ask for all that plus they offer better rewards. Im asking to put an extra amount on my secured credit card with MY money, I couldn’t believe they asked for that when my credit is good. I will be closing this account. I’ve always had a good relationship with vcu but this soured it.
Gives the opportunity to get money for projects located in the community and therefore connected and more involved makes for a better lending and banking

I have not had any really bad experiences with VCU. I did have one late payment charged to my account that I believe was because of a glitch in their online payment system..I did not know that the payment did not go through as stated on my account on the day I paid my bill..but was discovered when I went back into my account to pay the following month and there it stated I owed twice the normal amount owed..of which then I paid both payments and was caught up. but the over 1-month late payment has been added to my credit report.
Vantage has gone modern technology. The staff is nice. The practices stink. I cant cash a check for $s and cents. I get the cash back but the cents gets deposited in my savings account. If I cash a check for $100 and ask for tens and twenties, you will only give me twenties. I then have to go back out of the cubby to a real teller to get tens. I dont like talking to a screen. The new process takes longer. We have been Vantage members for over 30 years. We are changing banks. I dont carry my checkbook and now I have to memorize the account number. My husband had the same issues plus other issues. We are not happy customers.

Been a vantage customer for over 15 years. had the great misfortune of speaking with a Cindy Fitzgerald at the O'Fallon Branch, who was not only rude but actually asked me what I needed my money for after asking me if it's okay to hold a standard paycheck when I had well over twice the amount in savings. She has no business dealing with the public, but i can foresee a bright future for her in the custodial arts.
Vantage is a wonderful financial institution. I had a couple of different banks before I switched to Vantage. Both of which left a lot to be desired in the performance area. The staff at Vantage is very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Setting up my checking/savings account at Vantage was a breeze and I felt my rep was very thorough, she made the process fun and easy. I absolutely love Vantage and hope to be a customer here for a very very long time.
