Hancock Whitney - Fort Walton Beach branch has the absolutely worst customer service I've ever experienced. I arrived at the branch a few minutes prior to the lobby's closing time "4:00 pm." I presented a check written on the Hancock Whitney name. The amount was in the 60,000 range. The money should be available immediately. The manager asked if I had an account with HW. I said no. I was told the bank did not have that much cash available. I explained I didn't want cash, that a cashier's check would be fine. If I had been a client with HW, then I would have been able to deposit the check. I informed the manager that I wanted to open an account. She quickly informed me that it was after the lobby's closing time and would not be able to accommodate my request. The whole office was unhelpful and seemed indifferent to the prospect of me becoming a new client. I won't ever use this bank in any capacity.
With decades of banking experience and seeing how this bank operates, I suggest avoiding it. I found customer service to be great but the policies of the bank to be unacceptable.
20-30 minute hold times for three months? Four unreturned messages. They do not honor offers received in the mail or seen online. There are too many banks out there to put up with this subpar customer service.
I have been to the Whitney bank office several times during the last few months (5328 Government street location) - they need help - everything from the drive thru to the lobby - is slow moving; Today I left the drive thru to go into the lobby; you have one person working the drive thru window and one teller working the lobby; plus it looked like a manager was sleeping in her office ( clear window office) - not sure what is going on over there but please get them some help -you don't want customers to wait so long - customer service standards def. need to improve - Customer service is the reason why businesses either stay afloat or perish. GET HELP TO THAT LOCATION PLEASE ASAP

Extremely Poor Customer Service as Hancock Whitney puts the BURDEN of changing the address by phone on the customer to answer ridiculous questions!
Some questions are about college football teams that I NEVER paid attention to, not even nearly 50 years ago when I was there. There MUST be an easier verification process, easier for the valued customer that is.
There are many ways to verify an address change. Hancock Whitney does ONLY what is convenient for them.
Shame on Hancock Whitney for taking the lazy way and making the address change convenient for them at the expense of the VALUED customer.
If you want the pickiest underwriter while trying to get a loan, pick this bank. I am a week away from closing and they are asking me for documents to prove the smallest little transactions. Ridiculous.
Hopefully my interest will go down. This is absurd I have steady income , I owe a house I am a guy who always had a job and I am not borrowing much money

Absolute worst bank I've ever dealt with. Paid off my mortgage and need documentation from Whitney so the lienholder can be removed from my title. They have absolutely no record this mortgage existed and I think anyone with a pulse can work in their customer service department. I've been trying for 2 weeks just to find someone who can find my loan and send me the needed paperwork.
If you want to buy a property with a heloc loan do not use this bank. I have an over 800 credit score and make good money so I qualified. They almost cost me to loose my investment property. The lady kept asking for the same documents over and over and then would not respond for weeks after you sent them. Then if you had a question she would not respond. My realtor and I constantly were reaching out and getting ignored while we are on a timed schedule. I had to extend on contract and they still were going over and asking for the same documents. Luckily I found another way to get the money in less than a week and got my property... while they were still taking almost 2 months to get my heloc loan. I don't know if they are incompetent, the underwriter doesn't know what they are doing, or what, but don't use them if you want to get money. Go another route.
Worst bank to bank with. I requested a new card back in July and never received it after the 10th business day. They ordered another one and still didn’t receive this one either. Will be closing my account to bank somewhere else.
Bad enough I was not notified of my maturing CD earning a whopping .20%. It rolled over automatically to another 14 month CD paying a confiscatory .05%. The Bank demanded a 2% early withdrawal fee to exit. Couldn't get any worse at loan shark Inc.
If I could zero or negative 5 stars, I would. I have never experienced such horrible customer service and business practices. Their "policies" are absolutely absurd and do nothing to resolve customer issues. I have filed complaints, spent countless hours on the phone, attempted to resolve matters through Customer Service and getting absolutely nowhere with speaking to a supervisor. I am a small business owner and am appalled at the way they treat their customers. Stay far far away from this bank. Choose a local bank or credit union or anyone else for that matter.

What a horrible bank. Never have a dealt with such a horrible business model. They’d never make it anywhere outside of the south, because their business practices are illegal in every state outside of the south. When we finally move, we will not be using them at all. I wish I had known how horrible they were before we had taken out a loan, because I would have found another bank or credit union to do business with instead.
