Terrible company. I picked it for my loan because my mother worked for them and I actually served at Wright-Patt. I had Roamly insurance on my RV and I was going through rough financial times. They told me that Roamly wasn't good enough and that I'd be paying an extra $50 a month until I submitted State Farm insurance or something similar.
They never explained that if I did not do that by a certain time, they would increase my payment by $100 that they would just keep and not count towards my loan. Then I asked what my payment would go down to if I submitted full coverage State Farm insurance and they said it possibly wouldn't go down at all. Permanent consequences for a mistake, that they did not even bother to explain would happen....to a first time RV loan holder. Super shady.
Avoid at all costs. They are permanently charging a $100 no insurance fee, even if I fix it and get insurance. That should not be legal. And they did not do this mind you, until after having 2 years of on time payments and then falling behind.
They smelled blood in the water and instead of trying to help....they decided to increase my payment by $100 to hopefully take it from me. I am going to fight this tooth and nail. Call the base, senators, representatives, newspapers, the works. You try to take me down, well it works both ways.

Wright Patterson Credit Union is in my top ten worst banks. They have put my life in jeopardy due to their inability to credit my direct deposit. I have waited 7 days for the direct deposit. My employer claims to have submitted it three days ago, and Wright Patterson still does not credit it or even set it as pending. I guess I am not getting paid for the work I did for my company. It is the first check from them, and I have not had an income for over a month. Does Wright Patterson care? They don't, so I will continue without food, insulin, and a roof over my head. My storage unit will be lost, my car repossessed, and other things because Wright Patterson cannot complete my direct deposit.

I've been with Wright Patt for many years. I have had multiple car loans, paid as agreed, as well as a few credit cards with no balance owed. Additionally, I have a mortgage that has been paid as agreed. I've sent business their way from both my personal and professional life. My wife has worked for the company for the past five years. She and I have had outstanding credit for the past few years and were recently looking into a HELOC for future upgrades to our home.
In the midst of the application for the HELOC, I was made aware that my student loans had become unfrozen and were actually 90+ days late. I regularly check my credit score and never noticed this. While my wife's credit was unharmed, mine took a bit of a hit. However, I was confident that with our relationship and history, they would still be able to help me. We did get approved for the HELOC, but every person I've dealt with since my credit suffered has left me feeling like it's probably best to end this relationship with Wright Patt before it gets messed up further.
Wright Patt appreciated me when my credit was 805, but the moment it fell into the 600s, it became crystal clear they cared less about helping me try to get back to my former score. I'm sure I'll get all this cleared up. I've been very blessed in the fact that I am capable of getting my student loans back into good standing. However, I will stop using Wright Patt.
I was able to get instantly approved at Kemba because I have no other late loans due, everything is paid as agreed, and my credit utilization was at 4%. Wright Patt, you can't save me as a member anymore. But let this be a lesson to you and your partners: do better. I could understand if the situation was different, but a credit union that doesn't know me took a look at my credit and paystubs and welcomed me better than the credit union where I put thousands of dollars in direct deposit monthly.
If you're reading this, check out Pathways or Kemba.

At what point do fraud precautions become attacks on good customers? I don't trust WP because of the way they handle 'safety'. This is a review of the credit union as a whole, not any one branch. Read on for details: I missed the deposit date for a real estate auction because a representative named Kamala in their "fraud" department delayed the process (she mentioned her name was Kamala at the start, but later in the conversation she refused to give her name again). The certified check had already been cleared, but they wouldn't release even a portion after 6 days for the auction deposit amount. Their excuse was that I'm newly relocated and my account is only 3 weeks old, even though THE CHECK HAD ALREADY CLEARED! Meanwhile, the call center representatives, who work from home, verify your identity with your social security number. How is that safe? Kamala called me, expressing dislike for my address. I have an Ohio driver's license, pay stubs, social security card, and birth certificate. I'm living at a motel because I just moved here! Kamala said she was personally blocking any supervisor review of my request for partial funds release. I had planned to add additional accounts, but now I am taking my money to another bank. After my experience with Kamala, I wouldn't be surprised if they attempt to inconvenience customers they don't favor. My interaction with Kamala occurred on Saturday, March 1, ending at 11:45 am—if WP is interested, which I highly doubt. I also filed a complaint about Kamala blocking my request without a reasonable cause, but, unfortunately, people like Kamala seem to be the norm at WP, not the exception. Let's see if I'm proven wrong. But I'm not holding my breath.

This is a review you MUST READ!
Just a quick background... I've been a member with Wright Patt and in good standing for 14 years now. I'm a person who cares a great deal about my credit. I keep over a 700 credit score and about 15 years of credit history. I maintain a 100% payment history, I have 0 derogatory remarks & 0 collections.
As of this past February 3rd, I applied for a car loan at W.P.C.U. for $6,000.00 with a down payment of only $1,000.00 and thankfully, I was almost immediately approved. I went to Wright Patt & signed my papers and then went to get my new car. Then unfortunately, 9 days later, I was in an accident that was a total loss. Luckily, I was fully insured, therefore, I was reimbursed not only for the car but double what I gave. So, I returned to the bank, paid the car off, and put $8,000.00 down for another attempt at a loan for a replacement vehicle. I was open and explained everything to the bank during the whole process. They were more than happy to receive the quick 14-day turnaround payoff.
I was only short $4,000.00 at this point for the replacement car I was applying for. After all, I put my whole payoff down as a down payment. The vehicle I applied for actually blue booked by Wright Patt Credit Union for $16,000.00!! Basically, they would've only invested $4,000.00 into a vehicle they valued at $16,000.00 themselves! In actuality, it would be in their best interest if I did, in fact, default on the loan, considering it would be a $12,000.00 profit for them. However, given my credit history, that would be highly unlikely! My car payment would have been about $75.00 a month, and I assure anyone reading this, I can more than afford that payment efficiently.
As a long-term Wright Patt Credit Union member, I felt this story was very important to share with not only other W.P.C.U members but also to anyone considering joining W.P.C.U. and/or considering a loan with Wright Patt bank. Especially if you are concerned with things like "hard inquiries" on your credit that stay there for 2 years. I know I sure care! So I hope this review was informative and helpful in making your decision in applying for your loan, with whom, and that you get whatever you're after! Best of wishes! 🙂

Terrible bank. I can't even make an online purchase with the debit card. It says the PIN can't be delivered. The people working there don't know what to do about it either. Bad experience overall. Wouldn't recommend.

I tried to use Wright Patterson Credit Union to finance a condo I was buying. Before I made an offer, the loan officer I was working with (Aaron Snow) was very unresponsive. I had to set up an account in order to use them as my financing option. It took over two weeks just to set up a checking account! There were several issues that they ran into as we approached the proposed closing date. After Aaron made several false promises, I was informed on our proposed closing day that they would not proceed with my mortgage. To make matters worse, they did not refund the deposit I made. I ended up losing out on my dream condo because of Wright Patterson!
Stay as far away from Wright Patterson Credit Union as possible! A nightmarish experience...

Very excellent customer service. I'm super impressed with Wright-Patterson Credit Union. I have been with Day Air Credit Union for five years, and with a 667 credit score and zero debt, I could not get a car loan. But Wright Patt and Reichard Buick got me all the way together. Thank you, Wright Patt, for outstanding work and client support system. I didn't even have to go into the branch; the dealer opened the account for me during my car sale. Talk about convenience!

I have been a customer with Wright Patt for 15 years. I applied for a personal loan and have a stellar pay history on my credit report and a good credit score, my DTI is a bit high and that was the reason I was applying for the loan was to do some debt consolidation and they turned me down. None of the representatives are on the same page and I keep getting different information from everyone that I have spoken with. I called my bank and was able to get approved and funded within 10 minutes. I’ll never try to do business with this place again and I will be closing out all of my accounts that I have with them. Hopefully they hire competent people that are aware how the financial industry work.
