Cant install windows live id sign-in assistant

When i open GFWL it says that i need to install that thing, so I proceed to do it but the installer display this problem

when I try to install that sh** it says "windows live id sign-in assistant setup wizard ended prematurely"

I've tried everything people recommends in other posts, even I install windows live essentials but then GFWL pops up another error!!

I've tried everything!!

uninstalling GFWL, reboot, install it again, reboot, but nothing!! it always displays that i need the sign-in assistant but i cant install it!!

please help me people =(

I assume you're downloading GFWL from the original website: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/LIVE/PC/DownloadClient

If so, then right-click on the GFWL icon you've installed, select Properties and choose Windows 7 compatibility mode

If so, then right-click on the GFWL icon you've installed, select Properties and choose Windows 7 compatibility mode

but I have windows 7, so I need to select windows XP compatibility mode??

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=15106 download it frmo here, install it (as admin i guess), then try again what you were doing before

that's the thing I can't install, when I open it says: "windows live ID sign-in Assistant Setup Wizard ended prematurely because of an error. To install this program at later time, run Setup wizard again"

now that you're installing it what's already installed on your system of essentials, gfwl, old sign in assistant, etc

Seeing you're having Windows 7 I'd try what sajtttsyro suggests:

1. Click start menu
2. Press Run
3. Insert this:
%SYSTEMROOT%\SYSTEM32\REGSVR32.EXE%SYSTEMROOT%\SYSTEM32\WUAUENG.DLL

4. Hit Enter. Done. See if this works.

thank you guys, to fix the problem I went to control panel>admin tools>services>windows update in properties I put automatic and then right clic and start, that fix my problem
