Pretty poor service and mess up on their end. Order a barclaycard and had to wait 2 weeks for it, only to find out they have sent it to the wrong address, even though my personal details was updated months ago.
They've got pretty awful controls and procedures in place and now have to wait another 2 weeks potentially to get my new card.

New to Barclaycard and without doubt the worst online service I've ever used for a financial product. Not user friendly and when something goes wrong, it's a nightmare to resolve. Absolutely rubbish. Paying the card off and closing.

Had an issue with a supplementary card. Called and go through to their robotic "offshore" colleagues. These people don't even try to understand the issue - they just spout a pre-programmed line. Needless to say that they couldn't not resolve the issue. Barclaycard has been useless since my initial application. I've now closed my account.

Absolute and total waste of time.

Needed to check my credit card balance after getting a new phone. Need to register AGAIN for internet banking. App immediately locks me out for not remembering PI
N. Absolutely no way of resetting. Contact Barclays phone number. Speak to a machine for 20 minutes tediously entering in details one number at a time using dial pad. Get told machine cant complete required actions and phone lines to people are closed. Absolutely useless. AVOID.

My card details were hacked at…

My card details were hacked at Booking.com and suddenly, multiple accommodation transactions were appearing. Contacting Barclaycard, I was told they were looking into it.
They cancelled my card on the 4th June and sent out a new one and I was told that most unauthorised charges had been blocked and that a refund would be made for the charge that got through. So far, so good?
On receiving my statement a few days later, instead of refunding the full £62.43, only £10.13 was given as a credit, so I phoned Barclaycard (the live chat "help line" via the Barclay's app was of course, not working).
The staff member I spoke to was foreign and difficult to understand, but confirmed that I would have to pay this remaining charge on my statement.
On telling the staff member that I wished to make a formal complaint and asking for the call to be escalated to a Manager, he came back saying that "none of the Manager's were available". Instead, he said I would get a call-back from a Manager at 7pm that evening.
7pm came ... and 7pm went ... and so far, still no call back.
Then on my statement ... I find a charge applied to my card dated 7th June, three days AFTER the card was supposed to have been cancelled???

Customer service appalling

Customer service appalling, simple requests not carried out, the grammar of whoever you are speaking to on chat is another level. They clearly do not care, if you want a decent company go somewhere else.

LOWERED CREDIT LIMIT WITH NO REASON

I, like others have had barclaycard lower my credit limit from 10k plus to £400 with no reason whatsoever. Absolutely disgraceful service. What are thier customer service for and why is the FCA allowing these practices. I would avoid these like the plague.

Beyond useless

Beyond useless, probably the worst I've had in 30, yes 30 years.
Got a new account and card, card never left my house and used on 3 maybe 4 legit sites and yet I've had 3 and counting fraudulent charges to some company called BOOSTBLOGFOOD based in Bulgaria that I've never heard of. Put in a claims form over a week ago and still nothing done then on 10th June spoke to a customer services rep who barely had basic English skills and was told my card was NOW FROZEN and no more transactions would happen. Surprise surprise another transaction to same fraud company happens AFTER my call?
Barclaycard should be ashamed of their level of staffing, their failure to remove rogue transactions and also answer how exactly it could happen when my card has never left the house, been in a hole in wall machine or in anyone else's hands?

Can't activate a new card

Can't activate a new card. It says log in via the app, for which you need a pin. But you need the app to see your pin. Log in online requires the card number. Can't use the card number as it's not activated. Can't activate without the app. Awful. Don't recommend.

Don’t fall in to the same trap clearly…

Don’t fall in to the same trap clearly I and essentially every other person who use BarclayCard have fallen in to. Their customer service is terrible - they do not give a single care about any of their customers. Any complaints are rubbished away. They truly do not care - by far the worst banking experience I’ve ever had. Glad to be moving away from them. Wouldn’t recommend my worst enemy to use BarclayCard or even Barclays to bank with. Any issues and they don’t care. Any error on their side and they couldn’t care. But they do care if they can try screw you over at any point. That should be their new tag line ‘We only care if we can screw you’.

Credit limit reduced with no obvious reason and no help given.

Received a letter from Barclaycard stating my credit limit had gone down from £9000 to £250. I literally had no clue why this would of happened.
I contacted the three credit score agencies Barclaycard use and they couldn't shed any light (they couldn't as all was normal).
After a large number of calls to Barclaycard I was told I had received an 'adverse data' from Experian.
I recontacted Experian and they wrote a letter to confirm I had no adverse data against me in which I forwarded to Barclaycard with my latest credit score so they could reassess my case.
Barclaycard's position didn't change so I contacted the Financial Ombudsman who was helpful.
Barclaycard would not provide the Ombudsman with the details of the adverse data (as they don't have to supposedly and they have the right to reduce credit limit at any point).
All I wanted was help regarding this supposed 'adverse data against me.
The Ombudsman did find in favour of me regarding poor customer service and was awarded £200 from Barclaycard.
Barclaycard never appeared at anytime to want to help me get to the bottom of this issue.
All my credit scores remain high with the agencies and I still don't know what made Barclaycard reduce my credit limit level to the point where the card was almost rendered useless.
I have banked with Barclay's for over 40 years with no credit issues.
Customer service was really really poor and what I experienced I have read others have to.
Poor service!

Tried to apply for Barclaycard Rewards Credit card

Tried to apply for Barclaycard. Online would not allow me to manually input correct address. 20 mins on phone to bots and technical services. Told I can't do it online as I can't input my correct address. Told to go into branch in Exeter. Went into branch. They cannot do applications in branch. Told to apply by phone. Spent an hour trying to do this. Was told they don't do applications by phone. Last customer services woman was very helpful but unable to help other than telling me to fill in the wrong address for the approval system and that I could alter it later.
This did not seem wise to me......
At least 3 hours of my life wasted.

I was planning my holiday and needed to…

I was planning my holiday and needed to book flights on specific dates to ensure I got to see my son and family in New Zealand, I took out a Barclaycard on recommendation from a friend as you get Avios points and me and my wife do a lot of flying, biggest mistake of my life. I had a Tesco credit card with a massive credit limit and it worked all over the world, I got my Barclayscard with £6500 credit limit I tried to book flights , Etihad, Qatar, Air New Zealand I could not make any payments, I rang Barclays they moved me around departments and even the fraud department said they had not put a stop on the card. After hours of trying I used a bank account debit card that instantly worked so nothing wrong with my pc or mobile fone app, yesterday I spent almost 2 hours on the fone challenging what had happened ,eventually the fraud department admitted they had stopped my card. So I asked that they gave me Avios points for the transactions I had made on my debit card they refused, I said only reason I applied for there card was to help get points for flights, so I was and am disgusted with Barclays as I or others could be in a foreign country with a blocked credit card card and Barclays saying it’s nothing that they have done. This event made my blood boil it’s unbelievable and disrespectful to customers and could easily ruin a holiday abroad. I have since applied for 2 other credit cards and was immediately accepted, I will pay off Barclays and cut up the card that does not serve any practical purpose. Be aware I have spent so so many hours on the fone it’s embarrassing. Just say NO TO BARCLAYCARD!!!!

Terrible Experience – Avoid Barclays Credit Cards

Really bad service. I’ve had several credit cards with different providers and never had an issue—until I used Barclays. Out of nowhere, they decided to drastically lower my credit limit without warning. As a result, my credit score took a serious hit for the first time ever.

When I contacted them for an explanation, they gave vague reasons and admitted it could be due to “many internal factors” on their end, but offered no solution or support. Absolutely unacceptable.

If you care about your credit and want a reliable provider, avoid Barclays at all costs.

JUst do what you promise to do

Spent 40 mins being bounced around automated lines when all I wanted was to talk to a person, I have early dementia, when I finally got someone went all through my needs as they have changed their login page,I need a new pin number, no help there though! Need to reduce my paydown payments as utility bills have increased gas, electric, water etc, they told me it would take a day to transfer details to "his" screen and he would ring me back today, nothing so far next they will be saying my payment is overdue,I am so stressed I am 72 and cannot cope in this digital world I need to be able to speak with a person who gets on with their job and big corporations want to stop messing us about with system changes for their own benefit, I hate the way its gone and NO I do not have a blasted smart phone I do not understand them!!!!!
