Absolute and total waste of time.

Needed to check my credit card balance after getting a new phone. Need to register AGAIN for internet banking. App immediately locks me out for not remembering PI
N. Absolutely no way of resetting. Contact Barclays phone number. Speak to a machine for 20 minutes tediously entering in details one number at a time using dial pad. Get told machine cant complete required actions and phone lines to people are closed. Absolutely useless. AVOID.

Abysmal customer service and broken promises. The company cancelled my card because of a possible scam and I was promised a replacement card would be issued with 2 to 3 days as a priority as I am disabled. 1 week and 4 phone calls later, the new card has not arrived. Today 27th May , I was told the card has NOT been replaced and it would take another 7 to 10 days before I will receive it. Ever since the company relocated its services "off-shore" the service and care has gone downhill.

Total incompetence, worst customer service I have ever experienced. Over ten minutes trying to get past that bloody machine on the telephone only for them to hang up. Web chat never available. Im sure the whole organisation is run by robots who have eliminated all the humans as I’m finding it impossible to get through to one.
I cant find 1 positive review on here, that should say it all really.

Still on hold over an hour into a call to discuss scam/ fraud. By the time anyone answers here any criminal could have cleared your account.
So it takes over 2 hours on the phone to not get things
dealt with properly by offshore call centre where you can hardly hear. And the upshot is you have to go into a Barclays Bank whereby the staff were very helpful. So really it took over 5 hours to deal with a simple issue.
Please consider bringing the call centres back into the UK where customers get actual customer service. Barclaycard used to be a decent service. Now they don’t appear to care, don’t respond on here and have worse reviews than many awful delivery companies. Shocking for a regulated service:

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I just signed up for and received a new barclays credit card, only to discover it's 100% IMPOSSIBLE to activate it because the TRASH website is totally BROKEN and NON-FUNCTIONAL

No matter what browser (chrome/firefox) or device (desktop/mobile) - the utter TRASH website does NOT WORK and constantly just says:

ERROR WE CANNOT SIGN YOU IN, PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER

I am totally unable to activate my card becuase of this HORRENDOUS piece of TRASH that they call a website.

No doubt it's PURPOSEFULLY broken so you HAVE to use their SPYING, SPYWARE APP INSTEAD!!!!

AVOID BARCLAYS & BARCLAYCARD AT ALL COSTS

Watch out for currency exchange…

Watch out for currency exchange charges!

The whole reason for getting this Barclays credit card was to use it to pay for holidays.

First off, my credit limit was set too low. I answered the application questions honestly. Once I'd ticked retired and my expected annual salary, the limit was set too low. I tried to amend but received a reply of 'the account needs to be active for six months before the limit can be changed '.

I have just paid for a long haul holiday - the once in a lifetime sort. I made sure I only paid below my credit limit, and paid the remaining amount on my current account debit card. All paid on 25th May.

Had an email last night, 27th at 10:15pm, that I had gone over my credit limit by £379. Read this this morning.

Paid off part of the total amount today , 28th.

Now Googled to see if I've been charged a commission on the currency exchange!! Apparently they do charge. So, having to pay in USD has cost me an extra £379 and caused my to go over my credit limit.

Once I've paid off this holiday, the Barclays credit card is for the bin!!

Pathetic service, going back to my Lloyds CC

Got a Barclaycard about 2 weeks ago, I tried using on Ebay through ApplePay and they blocked my card immediately.
I called the day after, 45 minutes waiting to speak to some useless 🍪, he said he can’t unfreeze it and has to transfer me to his fraud department, another 🍪, after checking all personal security details including the town I was born in, he said the system won’t let him and they will call me back.
I was fuming as by this point I have been on the phone for 1hour!!
Strangely enough, when speaking to the first idiot, the car has been unblocked for a brief moment as I had confirmation from both ApplePay and Barclaycard app.
So, what’s with all the bull**it??!!

I got a bit funny with the “fraud manager” guy and he tells me to keep it professional. I’m like, seriously?

Waste of time… the irony? Asian fraudsters are now in charge of our banking implying we are the fraudsters.

Pathetic service, going back to my Lloyds CC, better rate and customer service who speaks English and are genuinely there to help

Sorry I had to give one star minimum

Sorry I had to give one star minimum. Had Barclays credit card for 10 years, never missed a payment, or went over the credit limit. As a matter of fact, I’ve cleared my balance and had something like £100 outstanding. Still paying it. Out of nowhere, they’ve decided that I’m not managing my card well, and cut my credit limit to just £450. No reason. Completely disrespectful to a longtime good customer. Avoid them like plague.

Barclaycard banking app, simply useless

Barclaycard banking app and customer service has to be one of the worst in the UK. The app never completes tasks, for example setting up DD, the chat is never working as cannot transfer you to a real person. The customer service representatives seem to have exactly the same problems on their end and simply blame other financial institutions for their inability to carry out simple tasks.
If I could give ZERO stars I would.

Simply stay away from their credit cards and useless Android app, not sure about their regular banking

What is going wrong with Barclaycard

What is going wrong with Barclaycard. They used to be so dependable but now it is a joke. Worst customer service ever and can't even get through to discuss fraud. After taking ages to talk to one person she said she couldn't help as a different fraud department would check. She transferred me and I was on a hold for an hour before I gave up.

Barclaycard scam TEXT but they say not an issue

sent me text saying they would check payments on a credit care ending XXXX which I do not hold. First call 20 mins & they said they could not hear me. Second call disputes I even had the text (screenshot saved!) and raised a complaint. Another 20 mins wasted. Chat is useless, not available. Although it was available
until i asked a couple of questions. Just be aware that Barclaycard felt that the text was a scam but would not confirm they had an issue even though it was at the same time as a balance transfer request from me and two texts from them on this at the same time. I am left not trusting them as all. I will update when I get a response to my complaint.

Living in the Stone Age

There is no chat available in the app or on the website. If you phone them the line is terrible and there is loads of noise in the call centre so it’s hard to hear the person. You can’t see your card details in the app or on the website (unlike every other banking and credit card app I have with other organisations). I got an email telling me new cards were on the way and to get ready to receive them. They hadn’t appeared after a week so I contacted Barclaycard to be told it takes 3 weeks to deliver them! Are they sending them via ship from Australia. Barclaycard really need to up their game.
