America's Credit Union

I have been a member for over 20 years. It hasn't always been this way. I missed a good deal on a used car. I'm not sure when they stopped, but they will not do loans on a used car if it is 10 years old or has over 100,000 miles. I'm not sure how you finance a classic car through this credit union. Not only do they not do the loan, they don't let you know for a whole day. It used to be within an hour. It's really sad what has happened to this company. I am also in the market for a boat loan and a motorcycle loan. They will be missing out on my business. I used to tell everyone how great they were and to join the team. The CU in Lancaster, TX is the best. I have had the pleasure of working with Prince Jones on several occasions. He is knowledgeable, caring, considerate, and patient with all of the CU members. I have sent several of my friends to see him, and they were very pleased with him. So, if you want a good CU, I would advise you to seek out America's Credit Union.

Americas Credit Union rate super low for customer service. They are incompetent in doing their work,
they soeak in Spanish to insult the customer not think the customer speaks and understands Spanish as customers first language. I called them on their insults and they freaked out then the issue I came in for was completed by the other person that insulted me and my family. They are sorry people that work their make the good ones look bad. My account start in 1980s as Telco then Go Credit Union when it went to Americas Credit Union
It went south. Beware where you put your money.

I wish I could give a zero, and I wish I had read reviews before I ever opened an account. They charged me “courtesy withdrawal fees” two times for a total of $50 when there was a positive balance in my account, couldn’t get ahold of anybody to talk to for hours. It happened before too. Then, after making a CASH deposit of &500 in their ATM, they put a $275 “check hold” on my account! Again … CASH deposit!!! Closing account and going to make sure everyone I know is aware … do NOT bank here. Horrible bank with worse customer service I have ever experienced. They should never be allowed to handle anybodies hard earned money. Stay away!!!!

Outdated company that is not member/user friendly. I’ve been a member since 2012 and will be closing my account and taking my money elsewhere. 10 years ago I was happy to have ACU hold my money and they helped me through some rough times with a personal loan. Through the years I have grown to dislike nearly everything about ACU. From their rude and seemingly untrained tele-banking staff to an outdated and clunky online banking app. Routinely wait 5-10 days for a mobile deposit check to clear and have funds available and currently waiting over 15 days for a new debit card after disputing a $100 charge to my account. Once my new debit card arrives I will be pulling all my money out leaving this dinosaur in the dust. My advice is to keep your money in pickle jars in your neighbors yard. It’s probably way safer there.

Had un unfortunate situation develop that caused me to have to turn over a vehicle(long story..vehicle I had never seen or drove) that was financed through ACU. Vehicle was turned over to a collection company and paid in full by me. Meanwhile ACU does not even show this as sold/transferred to the collection agency and when discussing with ACU customer service, the fellow on the other end is trying to tell me that they did not sell the servicing of this debt! Every month ACU is showing a balance due and trying to get this corrected seems to be an extremely difficult task for the mental giants at ACU. Long hold times, condescending customer service and virtue posturing to the max. Do yourself a favor and avoid ACU at all cost. Pentagon Federal Credit Union or Navy Federal would be a much better way to go.

New girl totally messed up setup of my direct deposit accounts. Had to use credit cards to live on and pay bills. Cost of fees and interest was over $500.00. Their fault no recourse, your fault they will gouge you. $2-3 overdrafts that cost several hundred in fees. Worst credit union I ever had the displeasure of doing business with.

I would give zero stars if I could. America’s Credit Union (ACU) violated my privacy (as well as federal law) when I applied for membership with the credit union by pulling my credit report without my express authorization. When I spoke with one of their representatives (Leah) on 25Aug21 and inquired about membership requirements, savings and checking accounts, and the application process, she said NOTHING about pulling a credit report. When I applied for membership on 29Aug21, nothing in their web-based application process indicated that they would definitely pull a credit report without my explicit authorization. I DID NOT AUTHORIZE THEM TO OBTAIN A COPY OF MY CREDIT REPORT! I typically do not (and would not) because I do not such a hard inquiry to damage my credit score, which I have been trying to repair for months. Who would ever think that a financial institution would pull a credit report when one was not applying for credit (or insurance, or to rent a property)? After all, I was proposing to put money into the credit union, not get a loan! And, I have been a member of credit unions in the past (and, for three, still am), and none of them ever asked for a credit report.

Today, 20Aug21, I learned that America’s Credit Union had – in fact – obtained a copy of my credit report from Experian without my permission. The woman who initially told me, Connie, also told me that there was nothing she could do about the problem, but that she would have the Spanaway Branch Manager call me back. He, Zack, called me back, and when I complained about their violation of my privacy, he claimed that I authorized the credit pull (NOT TRUE; I never signed anything to that effect!) and he refused to reverse the inquiry with Experian when I asked him to do so.

AVOID THESE LYING CORPORATE CRIMINALS LIKE THE PLAGUE!

This place is a scam. Placing overdraft fees on charges when there is a positive balance. Do not use. They steal your money. Horrible customer service also. Rude people

Bad online system that does not update correctly when you pay off credit card balance and it shows zero balance, system will sneak in additional interest and if you trust their system or don't verify within 30 days tHey report to credit bureau even if it's under $1
The manager lie about fixing issues and they delete history of communication from you. Bad organization and bad for your credit. Don't recommend to anyone specially military members

America's Credit Union is a fantastic place to bank. I've been with them for a few years now, and I have yet to come across anything negative. Customer service is quick and friendly, any problems I've had with my accounts were resolved as soon as I let them know. I have never come across any hidden fees with any accounts. Everything about their bank is very up-to-date. Online banking and remote check deposits are just a couple of examples. America's Credit Union is very, very good to their customers and I couldn't imagine banking with anyone else.

I've been a customer at America's Credit Union for over 10 years. In that time I've gotten great service, no hidden fees, and convenient store hours. Highly recommended if your looking for a new credit union.
