GoNoodle Kids Review

Let your kids learn some healthy activities by downloading GoNoodle.  Whether you are interested in exercise-based dance and sports training videos or calming mindfulness and yoga shows, you'll find a great selection of them in this entirely free app.

Kids learn how to fit activity into their lives to become healthier in mind and body when they use GoNoodle. With kid-suitable yoga exercises, dances, and mindfulness activities shown in this app, kids are entertained as they learn about a healthier and more active way to live. The most important thing that kids can learn is that their devices need not lead only to sedentary lives.

The GoNoodle app is a container for the GoNoodle content which is entirely curated to ensure that it is suitable for kids. The app's target audience is children aged between 4 and 10.  Parents can be satisfied that with this app, their kids will be learning in a safe environment.  There is a fantastic breadth of content that takes in all sorts of topics to make kids' screen time more active.

Browsing through the videos reveals many that encourage physical exercise.  Some show sports training exercises, others teach dances. Parents who go to exercise classes can find kid-friendly equivalents in such videos as those in the Zumba Kids section. When kids desire something for their minds, they can choose from calming mindfulness videos, creative drawing videos, and brain exercises.

Kids can get inspired to move their bodies in fun, new ways. They can learn dance routines, yoga poses, breathing techniques, aerobic exercises, and more. With the upbeat, positive approach, kids can also learn that moving and exercising can be fun and can make them feel good. They may also learn a few "academic" things with some songs that focus on learning content such as counting syllables, traveling across the 50 states, and the importance of voting.

The video production is top quality throughout.  These aren't amateur videos shot in somebody's back garden. The shows take place in sets that match the activities and the people in them have rehearsed well and followed carefully created scripts. The image quality is excellent and works superbly even when shown on large screens. Sound, too, is clear and lively whether played through the small speakers of a mobile device or sent to louder, external speakers.

The app does not need to do anything flashy as its content is the star of the show. The videos are categorised in sections that reward browsing as well as make it clear what they contain. For those children looking for inspiration, they can search the videos for something that matches their mood by asking to be shown something stretchy, silly, loud or quiet.

A helpful search function lets users find specific videos and topics. Once a video is playing, it is controlled by an interface that will be familiar to any child that has ever used online videos before.  It disappears when not needed leaving the videos unobstructed. While the content is buffered so that subsequent plays of a video won't need to download it again, an internet connection will be required most of the time for the app to be able to stream its content.

The GoNoodle app is free to download and the content is also completely free: no subscriptions and no in-app purchases. There are advertisements that play between the videos but these are age-appropriate and no more intrusive than what you might find on a television channel.

GoNoodle provides a wonderful service that is easily accessible.  It deserves a place in both home and school. Teachers can enliven their children with a quick activity break based around one of the GoNoodle videos. Parents can calm a worried child with a focus-enhancing mindfulness video.  Children stuck indoors, wherever they are, can find some way to get active through this app and its videos.

There really is no downside to getting GoNoodle. It won't cost you a penny and your child will be amused, educated, and, most important of all prompted to do something active by it.
