Why this petition matters

King of Avalon (KOA) gamers are fed up with the consistent increase of expenses to pay to win and the ever-decreasing free rewards. On April 22, 2020, Funplus initiated a new update in the game where individual growth quests and rewards were taken away (without any notice) and daily quests removed some much needed rewards like Lucky Shot Coins (although after some hours they say they made a mistake and will fix the 'rewards', we will see) - as well as removed quests that are free to complete (such as Reinforcing a castle or Donating 1 Portal Dust). Note, it is not this one update that has KOA consumers upset. It is the constant lean towards Pay To Win (p2w) and at a time when the globe is experiencing a catastrophic pandemic leaving many people unemployed, furloughed, sick and losing loved ones. Now, more than ever, is when consumers expect to see some corporate sympathy for the everyday real issues of economic and health concerns we are all impacted by in one way or another. Whereas digital streaming sites are offering free movies, credit card companies are offering extension of 0% interest rates, landlords are forgiving late payments and governments are handing out financial relief - this is not the time to INCREASE costs of entertainment. This is the time to offer reduced costs or free gifts for turning to a company for entertainment while quarantined or sheltered at home.

KOA kingdoms have been seeing a reduction of players for awhile now. With every update or newly introduced item in the game, the costs go up to play. Older items are abandoned and any individual that had been collecting fragments to craft said older item (example: Twilight Emblem) has to cut their losses and start over again with the newer introduced item. The consistent increased gap between p2w and f2p (Free to Play) makes it close to impossible for some players to be able to fight in a war game unless they are part of a rally led by a player that pays to win. For those p2w players remaining, there is near nothing left to fight. Abandoned castles are strewn along the edges of kingdoms central Black Forests. P2w players teleport around during its monthly Kill Event scouting empty castles in kingdoms resembling ghost towns.

The incentives to keep playing a game are little to none -- where bi-weekly -- free rewards get reduced, costs of crafting or gaining fragments get higher, items bag fill up with useless fragments people have been storing, saved rewards get taken away because the developers don't notify their customers they're removing them, summon events such as Honor Pass give less and less rewards for paying to summon and fighting in a war game where there is nearly nothing left to fight. Even the one silver-lining players had over paid high stats was building smart troop formations. KOA introduced Critical Damage (that costs $$$ for philosophers stones to get) killing the last of the game's real strategy.

For years now, KOA players have been repeating the same requests and advice to Funplus: give more f2p rewards to keep more players in the game. Offer us incentives. Yet, instead, despite countless surveys and customer support tickets, the billion dollar company ignores the customer and instead thinks of ways to profit more money from us. However, we don't have to put up with their greed. We can delete the game. We can find other games to play that will appreciate our patronage.

For those who have been contemplating quitting the game, here is one reason, Funplus makes billions off of us. BILLIONS. They can afford to award us free gifts for our loyalty in choosing to play their games. They can afford to offer us a sympathetic ear during a global pandemic. Funplus, a Chinese company headquartered in Beijing has their contact address in the Cayman Islands. That says a lot. In April 2019, their company was listed as having generated more than $1.3 billion USD in revenue. [LINK: https://venturebeat.com/2019/04/22/2-funplus-mobile-games-have-generated-more-than-1-3-billion-in-revenue/ ] It's time my friends. Its sad to say goodbye to each other on game, for it is the players that most of us have stayed for. We will stay connected to each other though, just not to Funplus.

If you want to make sure that this time Funplus hears your complaints (because we know they don't pay attention to our customer support tickets offering advice or our completed surveys), sign and share this petition. We may be giving up the communities we have built and the money we invested in the game, but we won't give up on our self-respect. This one-way relationship with Funplus is over.
