Norton Account Questions Answered

Norton Account allows a user to manage all of their subscriptions in a single location. The account is created the moment a user purchases a Norton product, service or subscription online. All details about products and subscriptions are readily available to users.

If a user needs access to product keys, wants to re-download their product or needs the latest product updates, all of this is available through a single account. No need to manage individual subscriptions with separate accounts. Norton makes account and product management easy.

Do You Have a Norton Account?

Norton Account likely exists for a user if the user has installed and activated a Norton product. Part of the installation process is creating an account. All online purchases create an account for the user automatically during the first purchase. Any online products including Norton Online Family, Norton Safe Web and Norton Online Backup take the user through creating an account. Norton trial versions also cause a creation of Norton Account.

Users only need to create an account one time. Any additional purchases just require the user to log in to their existing account.

How To Login To a Norton Account

In order to login to your Norton Account, simply visit the Norton Account homepage. Enter the email address and password the account was created with, and press the “Sign In” button.

Saving a Norton Online Store Order

All Norton Online Store orders get automatically saved during the purchase by having a user enter their account information when prompted. If the user has forgotten any of this information, links for recovering forgotten passwords and updating emails are available on the Norton Account sign in page.

To check order details, view an invoice or to download any of your Norton products, login into your Norton Account and see "Order History" under "My Account."

Recovering a Forgotten Password

Forgotten passwords are easily recovered by visiting the “Forgot Your Password” page. This can be accessed from the login screen. Enter the account's email address. An email is sent to the address with steps to reset the password.

What Does “Please confirm your purchase” Message Mean

If you make a Norton Online Store purchase, but don't save the order to your account, this message appears the next time you login. If you recognize the order information, simply choose "Confirm Order" and then click "Confirm Order." Otherwise, choose “I did not place this order” for orders you don't recognize. Recognized orders are stored to the account.

Creating a New Norton Account

If the user didn't create an account when installing their Norton product or didn't purchase online, they can still create a new Norton Account later. Connect to the Internet and open the installed Norton product. Any installed Norton product will work.

To create a new Norton Account from within your Norton product, click onto “Sign In” link in the upper right corner. Click the "Create a Norton account" link in the lower right corner. This will bring up a new "Norton Account Sign Up" window. Enter a valid email address and follow the prompts to create a new account. All information for the Norton product is stored. Follow the steps to store information on other Norton products. Instead of creating a new account, simply log in to the existing account from the other Norton products.

How To Change Account Information

To update or change Norton Account information, start by signing in. Select “Personal Information” and enter the information to change. Passwords are changed through this profile page as well. Press “Save Changes” ("Update Password" for a password change) when finished to save the updated information.

Updating Credit Card Information

When a user needs to update their credit card information, simply log in to the Norton Account and select “Billing Information” link. Enter the necessary credit card information and select “Save Changes” to save the information.
