Coronavirus: Get your stimulus money yet? It might take time to login at Fifth Third, U.S. Bank

Trying to check your checking account to see if you got government stimulus money?

It might take a little while to log in. Everyone else is doing the same thing.

Fifth Third says heavy traffic is creating a bottleneck and delays. U.S. Bank, PNC and others also had problems.

Downtown-based Fifth Third was blunt about it on its website:

"COVID-19 update: Due to high volumes some users are experiencing temporary login issues. We are working as quickly as possible to restore service for affected customers."

But there was frustration on full display with other banks on social media.

Regional banks weren't the only financial institutions with issues. There were gripes about Bank of America and other major national financial institutions.

The activity has been high for the past several days as Americans have been checking their accounts for stimulus payments.
