What really means is "STUPID" in American Sign Language. That's hilarious! Oh by the way... I've always wondered... When anyone do the "rock on" sign, it really means "b***s***" in ASL. Awkward! AURex 1,998 Posted July 24, 2015 Share Posted July 24, 2015 Is it any sillier than the one finger salute, the two finger together salute, the three finger salute, the Spock Vulcan salute, the vertical hand to middle of face salute, the left hand salute, the palm out salute, etc? Fact is, all salutes have an element of silliness when you think about it. But in this case, the peace sign salute is just innocent fun for most people. Just like all those partying girls opening wide with their tongue out. Do you think they actually know what that means, what it is really saying? No. The "rock on" hand is a cuckold insult saying your wife is sleeping with another man. The "okay" sign in Mediterranean countries signals that you are calling someone an a**hole. A crossed fingers salute in SE Asia signals that you are calling someone ... hmmm ... a women's genitals. A simple peace sign is, in some countries, equivalent to giving them the finger. I'd guess that most of the people who do the peace sign salute attach no other meaning to it other than just wishing others peace.
