Private in Co. H, 11th Regiment Georgia Voluntary Infantry. Enlisted as Private March 6, 1862. Was wounded at the Battle of 2nd Manassas in Virginia on August 30, 1862 in left leg. The wound was severe enough to necessitate amputation. He was at home, recovering from wound at close of war.
