Save 50¢ per gallon at BP and Amoco stations for the first 60 days after account opening, 15¢ per gallon thereafter.
Earn 5% cash back (5 points per $1) on non-fuel purchases at BP and Amoco, 3% cash back (3 points per $1) on groceries, dining and food delivery purchases, and 1% cash back (1 point per $1) on all other qualifying purchases.
Redeem points for cash back, account statement credit, gift cards from major retailers, travel experiences and more.
There is no limit on the number of points that can be earned. Points expire after the fifth anniversary of when they were awarded.
Modest initial bonus. During the first 60 days after account opening, you get a discount of $0.50 per gallon the next time you fill up at a BP station. That might sound good, but it actually provides a pretty poor rate of return. Let’s say a gallon of gas costs $3.14 and your car holds 20 gallons (the limit for the discount). That means you’d save $10 for every $63 spent, which translates to just 15.87% cash back. The best gas credit cards give you 5% back without dictating the type of station you have to use.
Decent ongoing gas rewards. On an ongoing basis, the BP Credit Card rewards you with a $0.15/gallon discount at BP. You also get 5% back on non-fuel purchases at bp and Amoco, 3% back on groceries and dining purchases, as well as 1% back on everything else. The top-end earning rate is solid for BP loyalists, but nothing about this offer warrants committing if you haven’t already.
Terrible for carrying a balance. Carrying a balance from month to month with the BP Visa Credit Card means dramatically overpaying on interest. After all, you need good or excellent credit to get the BP Visa, which has a high APR, and the average credit cards for people with good and excellent credit charge 23.9% and 17.67%, respectively, according to WalletHub’s latest Credit Card Landscape Report.
No annual fee, but there’s a good-credit price tag. While the BP Gas Credit Card’s lack of an annual fee saves you about $25.22 per year compared to the average credit card, it doesn’t distinguish the BP Visa from most comparable gas rewards cards. And though its rewards don’t really qualify for the category, the BP Visa Card is similar to the market’s best credit cards in the sense that you need good or excellent credit to get it. So make sure to check your credit score for free on WalletHub and weigh your other options carefully before submitting an application.

Half the time, the discount didn't work and station attendants usually couldn't help. Now, for the last several months, they keep reducing my limit. I've never been late and always pay more than is due. Each time I get a good percentage of credit available, they reduce it to only a couple hundred available. I'm going to pay it off next week and never use it again. They have lost a customer.

I use the app to pay bills. The app said no payment was due until next month. I always pay in full. I was declined, and my credit limit was decreased even though my card is paid in full every month. I will be closing my account.

This card is terrible. High-pressure salespeople call constantly to push me to use my card, or it will be canceled when I don't even need fuel. I was locked out of my online account before I finished setting it up. They emailed me blank invoices, so I had no information or means of paying them. They charged me fee after fee. Waiting on hold for a long time to speak with customer service just to be transferred. I spent more on fees than on fuel and never received any rewards. I would be better off with a regular credit card.

Do not get this card. Originally approved for a $3,800 credit limit, six months later my limit was cut by almost half. They sent me an email saying, "This new limit went into effect yesterday, and we will mail you our reasoning behind this decision." Apparently, if you start using their card too much, you become a credit risk.

BE WARNED biggest scam credit card company I ever used. They charged me a late fee of $75 and didn’t tell me. Then charged me another $75 late fee for not paying the original late fee that I didn’t know about. Purposely didn’t send a statement that month so I wouldn’t know. There website is outdated and never lets you log in. Then charge you $15 to pay your bill by phone. I’m pretty sure this whole company is one big scam. Avoid at all cost.

This was a great card. It was in my husbands name and he died of Covid in 2020. I was not allowed to switch it to my name. I used it for everything including the checks that were sent to me to get some money . Used it on trips, for groceries and for gas. Used it online for orders and it was a dependable card.
