Shellpoint is a bad company. They will hide payments made so they can charge you fees. They should be investigated for their practices. They will try to find false reasons to make it look like you're delinquent based on false information. Join me in filing a class action lawsuit.
Finding out that its not a very organized company.
All the penalty and fees hard to make sense.

I will definitely join you in a class action lawsuit. I have all my payments of receipts and I've always paid them via Money Gram because I heard they screw up with the bank payment but they are horrible and lie bad. I will be glad to joint you in a suit.

I agree with everyone else that this company is horrible. I had to contact Fannie Mae, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and my state Department of Insurance and Financial Services. They play games. They lie. They are deceptive. Truly horrible.

Horrible company. They misfile documents and then accuse me of not sending them the documents. They delay releasing funds on a regular basis and then, when they do write the check, they hold it for 7 to 10 days before mailing it. Every time I have called, they end up admitting that they made a mistake on their end, but they keep doing it over and over.
Would give 0 if we could! Foreclosures on our home, while we have emails proving we were working on modification, claim we signed registered mail notices when we have proof we were in the hospital with our daughter! Never provided a notice to cure. How can they say that with a principal owed of 220,000, that 10,000 a month income is not enough for a modification to save the home? Oh, and then they auctioned the property within 2 days, not allowing for a review! It's okay, we are pursuing legal action. Honestly, with the contaminated soil and the 200+ year old leach field system we informed them about, good luck! Even an as-is auction sale in MA does not cover septic issues.
Worst company I have dealt with. They took out an insurance policy without my consent and started charging me for it, after they told me nothing would change when they bought my loan from Caliber. Customer service has a minimum 2-hour wait to get anyone on the phone, and it shuts down at 3 pm. If you leave a callback, it will not be returned. Absolute scam of a company. If you have an option, pick a different lender. Would give a 0 if possible.
The Worst Mortgage Company Twice I requested to remove my escrow account from my mortgage. Each time they gave me a different reason. Each representative speaks differently than the others. I don’t know what they are trying to do. Customer service: zero scale.
I refinanced my loan, and the other bank sent a payoff wire to Shellpoint. They sent the payment back to the bank because the amount was short. I talked to the new lender and told them the new payoff amount. I reached back out to Shellpoint after calling the new lender. I paid the mortgage payment that was due because I didn't want a late payment. I didn't know the bank had resubmitted the payoff on the same day because they initially told me I would have to bring a check for the balance that was due. I paid the mortgage, and Shellpoint is saying the payment I made was factored into what the bank sent. They are literally trying to take over 2k from me. I am going to file a formal complaint at this point.

Since October of 2021, I had a home loan with Caliber Home Loans. I made every payment on time and was never late. On November 1, 2022, Shellpoint Mortgage assumed my loan from Caliber. I was never notified by Caliber nor Shellpoint Mortgage of the change, so I continued making my monthly payments ($1,526.95) to Caliber, all of which were on time. My November 2022 payment was sent to Shellpoint by Caliber, so that was on time. My December 2022 payment was sent to Shellpoint by Caliber, but now my mortgage payment has jumped to $1,891.66. I was later told by Shellpoint Customer Service (at the end of January 2023) that because the December payment was not the full amount, it could not be applied to the payment. My January 2023 payment to Caliber was again on time, but this payment was not forwarded to Shellpoint; it was refunded to me later in January 2023. I received a letter from Shellpoint at the end of January 2023, stating that I was behind on my mortgage payments. At first, I thought it was a scam because I had never heard of Shellpoint, nor was my mortgage payment $1,891.66. I called Caliber and found out that my loan had been taken over by Shellpoint. The letter stated I was behind on the December 2022 payment (minus the $1,526.95 from Caliber) and the January 2023 payment and needed to pay $2,300.69 to bring it current. I paid the balance and asked why I wasn’t notified sooner. I was told they had the wrong mailing address. However, I did get the delinquency notice at my mailing address, so I'm not sure why the bills couldn’t have been sent to the same address. Also, Shellpoint had my correct email and telephone number, but nobody contacted me on either of those. Now this has recently dropped my credit score because of their failure to notify me. I would like this removed from my credit report. Please send a letter stating this, so I can send it to the credit agencies. Shellpoint Mortgage dropped the ball, and I am paying for it.

I've been beating my head against a wall to fix it for over a year now with them and it's so frustrating because, like you, my credit score tanked due to an error on their end which I can prove wasn't my fault. Company does not follow agreements made with customers or agencies that work with customers. The management and staff give different information each time you call. They would rather you face foreclosure than work with people to keep their home.
I agree with you 100% , they have only one track mine to push you to foreclosure,,this is my third year experience with them since my partner died three years and I wanted to transfer my name one the loan , then they start creating charges to have my mortgage increased from $1025.00 to 1808.00 , for the last 10 months , I am 66 years old disable and have very limited income and trying to keep my home , how can I afford paying such amount that almost double than I paid before , they forcing me that they have to pay my taxes by force , and they are charging $100 extra a month than if I paid it directly to the country , I can say more and more about the bad disrespectful customer services ,

My mortgage was recently transferred to Shellpoint Mortgage, and I am attempting to pay my mortgage, but I am not able to find my loan through the website, and it's impossible to contact the company. The phone number provided doesn't work, and there is no email available. After reading the other reviews, I am really scared that they are going to take my home by not providing me the ability to pay my mortgage. Can someone please provide a way to contact a customer service representative at Shellpoint?
After making a mortgage payment through Shellpoint's phone payment service, I was alerted that the payment draft was sent to a bank I haven't used in six months. This was removed from my Shellpoint payment information a long time ago. After trying to contact a representative through Shellpoint's contact number without success, I gave up. Today, four days later, Shellpoint called me to collect the payment plus a fee for the returned insufficient funds.
Another disappointing error by what is advertised as a "Mortgage Servicing" business. The service is not as reliable as I previously described in another review, detailing even worse experiences.
The plus is, I finally talked with a representative!
Worst service ever! Who has a phone number that does not work, and the chat is busy all the time? No response after multiple calls; this is unacceptable.
This is the worst mortgage loan company ever. I have never been late on a payment, even through COVID. My bank account was hacked, and they will not help me at all. My payments have always been on time. This is the only place that refuses to work with me. There is more involved, but this is the gist of it. They know my situation, and all they care about is money. Helping the customer is definitely not a priority. Times are tough right now, and being elderly and on a fixed income is hard enough, let alone a few health issues that are also in the way.
They refuse to communicate. They claim to have someone call you to fix problems. They never call. They lose assumption packets . Today 20 nov 2023 I finally received mortgage statement for dec. Along with forms and a blank un-stamped envelope informing me of how they will sell my information. Even when no longer with this company. Your options are to only limit 3 out of 7. Apparently feds give them the right. My experience if I call they will deny it if I mail it will be lost. Additionally customer services often does not take notes. Do not take full notes. No one follows through. Know they are to be watched over in California by DFPI. Maybe they will get tired of receiving complaints and look into them. Write your gov official s. Maybe they will get tired of complaints. I have not scraped the top of all they have done wrong and still.
