In the past 6 months, I have received almost daily unsolicited calls from this service. Each of the calls indicates LegalMatch is looking for "attorneys in my area." A cursory ****** search would show I am not in private practice and unable to take on private clients. An even more cursory review of the "privacy opt-out" email account provided by ********************** would show multiple emails where I have specifically requested an end to these calls. These calls are bordering on harassment and LegalMatch has done NOTHING based on my previous email requests to be removed from its contact list. At this point, the calls are frequent enough that I'm considering a complaint with my state's Attorney General.

I am not a customer of this business. This business is harassing me via phone and email regarding legal matches that they have provided my information for. This is not with my consent, and I am unable to unsubscribe from any of these services. This is a harassing business.

We are sorry, but we searched for any accounts under your telephone number, name, or email address you provided, and none matched with any account on our website.  Are you sure you have the right company: LegalMatch?  There are many companies in the legal space, some with similar sounding names.

On March 25,2024 my card was charged ***** , I canceled the subscription! I use this service once paid and cancelled . There was no reason to charge my card 6 days later after charging a $1.00 to start. Im trying to dispute and get a refund of my $***** . The service itself wasnt very helpful ! I also find it weird that I did receive a text and email stating it has been cancelled, now I cant seem to find it !

You are reviewing the wrong company.  Per this person's own attached images, the charges were made by "Law District", NOT our company LegalMatch.  We don't charge consumers anything to use our service.  Please remove this rating.

I am a lawyer who signed up for LegalMatch after a convincing, online presentation of the type so cases that LegalMatch refers to its attorneys. The presentation focused on ***** cases, where I am licensed, and focused on cases in federal court, which was important as I have had most of my experience and current practice in federal court. I specifically remember that the first case that was presented as an example was a *****, federal, asset forfeiture case, which is a niche practice area that I serve. The actual cases referred bear no similarities to the online presentation. The overwhelming majority of cases are from ******* and ******* state courts. The overwhelming majority of cases are for clients facing criminal charges who make less than $25,000 per year and cannot afford to hire private attorneys and will be appointed counsel.I feel defrauded and cheated. The initial presentation was misleading and deceptive. After six months of trying to use the portals and responding to the few cases which were remotely relevant to my practice, I have been hired by no clients whatsoever, and have typically received no communication back from any of the potential clients who I contacted.

We understand that you are frustrated with our service.  You were given a "live" review of our service before joining, and you specifically are the one who chose ********** that you were interested in receiving prospective cases from.  We don't understand why you are now complaining about receiving cases from ******* and ******* when you requested both be included in your membership.  It should also be clear that you practice in a very niche legal specialty, so the majority of cases won't be relevant.  That is ok, because LegalMatch allows your identity to remain hidden from prospective clients until you decide to respond.  As for why the cases that are relevant to your practice aren't hiring you, we do not know.  This is something that should be explored further with your key account manager.

      Complaint: 21488718

I am rejecting this response because:   because the "live demonstration" was intentionally misleading.  My complaint is not that I get bad referrals from states outside my practice area or that I get bad referrals for cases involving matters outside my specialities.  My complaint is that the live demonstration  included a dozen or more cases that were in my jurisdiction and were in my practice speciality.  Then, when I signed up and paid money and started receiving hundreds of cases over six months, almost none of the referrals were the type I had been shown during the "live demonstration." The demonstration was completely different than the product the company provided.  The demonstration had obviously been seeded with cases in my practice area and in my specialties, and was not reflective of the product they were offering.  I would be happy receiving the garbage referrals if there were valuable referrals also.  Unfortunately, the referrals have been all garbage, and not a single one has generated a client for my firm.

      Sincerely,

      ***************************

      Business response

LegalMatch does not "seed" a live demonstration of our product.  You are granted access just like any other active member attorney, although you are in "read only" mode, and can't respond to cases or see the client's contact information.  We are sorry that once you started using LegalMatch as a paying customer you have not been retained more.  But allegations that we some how manipulate product demonstrations is absolutely false.

      Complaint: 21488718

I am rejecting this response because: the response makes false statements.  The person drafting the response has not reviewed my demonstration.  This is consistent with my entire experience with this company.  They misrepresent what they offer and what they can provide, and they they assign a new person with no knowledge of the previous misrepresentations.  I was not given "open access" when the product was being demonstrated.  I was given a sample of search results, given my jurisdiction and my areas of specialization.  The first case in the sample was a federal asset forfeiture case in the Eastern District of Texas.  One of my specializations is asset forfeiture, and my primary jurisdiction is the Eastern District of Texas.  Since I signed up, I have seen ZERO federal asset forfeiture cases from any jurisdiction.  I have seen no federal criminal cases from the Eastern District of Texas.  I have seen no economic fraud civil cases from the Eastern District of Texas.  The sample in the demonstration included dozens of cases that I would be interested and qualified to handle.  In reality, I have seen no more than a handful of cases in which I am interested and qualified.  The difference between the demonstration and the actual product is dramatic.  This company is engaged in fraud, and potential customers should be aware,

      Sincerely,

      Complaint: 21488718

I am rejecting this response because: the response is a general denial to specific allegations.  If the LegalMatch "disagrees completely" with my complaint, then please describe whether the first case on the demonstration pitch was or was not a federal asset forfeiture case in *****, *****.   If LegalMatch invites you for a live demonstration, be aware that my experience was that the great cases on the demonstration were nowhere to be found in the LegalMatch actual product.  The difference between the sales pitch and the actual product are so different as to constitute fraud.  Consumer beware.  This is not a good company.  I wish they would spend as much time evaluating the ethics of  their sales techniques as they did denying my specific complaints after they have taken my money.

      Sincerely,

I was looking for a ************* lawyer and I filled out a form thinking I was filling it for the ************* *************** who refers lawyers. I don't know how LegalMatch got in the mix and I mistakenly filled out the wrong form. I immediately contacted LegalMatch about the error an asked them to take my name off. Since then they have been sending me Masssachusetts referrals. I wrote them twice. When I called their **** number on both occasions I was hung up on. One woman told me just delete the emails and hung up because she does not know how to get my record removed. I keep on going around in circles. I blocked them texting me and put their emails in spam. That's find but one lawyer called my home this afternoon. Please stop them.

We are sorry to hear about your issues connecting with an attorney.  We see you posted your case on our website and received responses from two interested attorneys, including the one you mentioned *************************.  We have no control over your future communications with the attorney, as each attorney runs their own independent law office.  Our job is to provide the forum to meet prospective attorney - what happens beyond that is between you and any attorneys you contact.

We agree that this law office did not handle you legal matter with the professionalism that it required.  We encourage you to log into your LegalMatch account and "rate" the attorney so other clients can hear your experience.

LegalMatch helps thousands of clients every day find a lawyer.  We can assure you that we have not been "hacked" or are a scam, having been in business since 2001.  Good luck on your case!

I am rejecting this response because

If someone can hack into your system and pretend to be a lawyer -then you need to speak to the two lawyers listed to find out why I couldn't connect with them.

***** was scheduled for a call session but never phoned and then sent me a text saying thank you for the call?

The other attorney I never did connect with.  Nothing?

You tell me no one can hack into your system?  They just did.

      Business response

We believe from their case posting and correspondence that this person is suffering from some mental issues.  There is no hacking going on at LegalMatch.  One lawyer decided to not post a response to this client's case because they were not interested, and the second attorney posted a response, but then after speaking with the client, decided to revoke their response and not get involved with the client.  That means two lawyers didn't think the client had a viable case, so we are unable to help them.

After using the company's best practices for almost a year, their product just is not worth the cost of lead generation. The leads they provide are 90% people who cannot pay for legal services. Of the remaining people who retain, the majority stop paying their bills and disappear. We have communicated four or five times with the company stating that we want to buy out of the contract, and they refused to work with us and insisted that we keep paying for a product that does not work. They keep insisting we pay $30,000 bill to them to end the contract. We're a brand new company and are facing bankruptcy because this product does not work. We don't think that a company should try to bankrupt other new companies when their product doesn't work. We've been transparent about the issues and tried to fix the problem multiple times. So buying out of the contract is the last resort.

      Business response

      02/29/2024

We understand your frustration, and wanted nothing but success for your legal practice.  It is difficult because we can provide the forum for clients and attorneys to meet, but what comes after that is entirely up to the attorney: How soon do they respond to prospective clients? How are they on the telephone? What rates do they charge, and are they comparable to what other attorneys quote? How experienced is the attorney in dealing with these types of legal matters? How effective is the attorney at closing business? Does the attorney maintain a professional work environment? How effective of a legal advocate is the attorney?

LegalMatch helps thousands of attorneys every year successfully market their legal practices.  We do not know exactly why you have not had more success, but we will continue to work with you to find solutions.

Like with any marketing effort, some potential cases will be worthless. The advantage of LegalMatch is you can quickly review these cases, discard them, and the client never knows your identity.

We reject your assertion that we are required to help you negotiate a way out of your contract.  Our 1 page contract with you was fairly negotiated, and we remain committed to performing under its terms.

LegalMatch keeps calling me (for years now) despite the fact that every time they do, I inform the agent that I am not interested in their services and will never be interested in the future. Each time, the agency promises to remove me from their lists, but that never happens. I don't understand why I can't be removed because each call wastes their own agent's time as well as mine. Seems like they would not want to waste time calling somebody they know will not sign on to their service. Please help

To whom it may concern:This is once again a complaint against LegalMatch. My last complaint was ID ********. Despite assurances otherwise, I am continuing to receive solicitation calls. I get these calls almost on a daily basis from Legal Match. Sometimes more than one call a day. This has been going on for years. In this last referenced complaint through the BBB, LegalMatch assured me I would be taken off their call list. I even provided them (as requested) every phone number that possibly could be on their call list; these are: ************ and ************. I just received another call today from LegalMatch from a "*****" (please see the attached screenshot.Again, I suspect that this company has no ability to removed me from their call lists bc they have no controlling system; again, despite assurances that they use a centralized Salesforce system. I want a no further contact by this company, a public admonishment by the BBB against this company, and a public apology on your site by their company.*********************, Esq.

We apologize for the disturbance, and see the errant call.  We keep all of our attorney data in salesforce, which can sometimes mean multiple accounts associated with an attorney's name, law firm, web site, phone number, etc.  Mistakenly, one of these was left unmarked after our last communication.  We have changed it to DNC, so you should receive no further communications from us.
