How do I place an AP exam order?
Step 1: Activate Exam – Log into the College Board MyAP site at http://myap.collegeboard.org using your College Board profile and apply the ‘Join Code’ (access code) you receive from your teacher for each of your subjects.
College Board profiles are the same accounts used to order SAT exams, or to collect prior year PSAT/NMSQT or AP Exam scores. Do not create a new account if you already have one (see below for tips.)
Students will obtain a Join Code (access code) from their AP® Course teachers. Join Codes for the MyAP Site are subject, teacher and class period specific.
Once the student has joined the online AP Class group, they will be prompted to complete the MyAP Registration Profile pages.
ALL Students should join the MyAP AP Class groups to access free course resources. Students who are choosing to take the optional exams will also need to activate the exam by clicking for each exam that the plan to take the yellow ‘Register for exam’ button on the MyAP Dashboard. Deadline to activate the exam is November 6, 2022

Step 2: Submit Exam Fees – To complete registration, the exam fees must be submitted by clicking the link below and completing the online payment form. Payment is due by November 6, 2022.
Fees may be submitted via credit card or debit card, OR by mailing in a check or money order. There will be an online payment fee of 3.1% for payments submitted by credit or debit card. Directions for payment can be found at the end of the online payment form and in your e-mail confirmation which will be sent to the parent email address you provide on the registration form. Postmark deadline to ensure timely mail in fee processing is November 1.
A penalty fee will be charged between November 16, 2022 and March 5, 2023 of $40 per exam.
No exam fees will be processed after March 5, 2023. Exams that are active on MyAP without a corresponding fee submission will be deactivated and not ordered.
Failure to complete both steps 1 and 2 by the applicable deadline means the AP Coordinator for your school cannot submit an exam order as initiated with College Board without penalty.
Tips for setting up your College Board Registration Profile on MyAP:
– Use an email address that you will have access to throughout high school AND university
– Make sure to enter your COMPLETE legal name to prevent issues with sending score reports to colleges and universities
– Enter your Student ID number from PHHS to enable accurate attendance reporting on exam day.
– Send Scores: In MyAP you can navigate to your MyAP Registration Profile and then the “Send Scores” tab. Enter here the name of a college/university that you would like to send your exam scores to in the summer (applicable to seniors mostly). Each student is eligible for one free score report from College Board if the “Send Score” request is completed before June 15. Requests after that are submittted via http://apscores.org
I can’t access my College Board Profile account or am not sure I have one. What do I do?
The College Board Profile is the same account used to access your past years’ AP® scores, PSAT® scores, and SAT® scores.
Do not create a new one! Each student should have only ONE unique account. If you are unable to access the account, try using the ‘Forget Password?’ link on http://myap.collegeboard.org OR email apstudents@info.collegeboard.org OR call 888-225-5427 for assistance.
Where do I get the Join Code to complete the join step on the MyAP site?
Join Codes are subject, teacher, and period specific. Join Codes will be distributed in class by your teachers after the add/drop deadline. If you were absent on the day the code was distributed, please see your AP® teacher ASAP.
What if I miss the November deadline to submit a fee?
A penalty period for late payment submission is available November 16 through March 5, 2023. Click on ‘Submit AP Exam Fees’ below. A penalty fee will be added to the each exam of $40 per exam.
What if I missed the deadline to join the online class on MyAP?
AP® exams are optional exams, so unless a student completes the entire registration process, the school would need to assume you have decided not to sit for the AP Exam. If a student does not complete both steps (fee submission and Joining on MyAP ) an exam order cannot be fully initiated and submitted to College Board.
I’ve decided that I do not want to take the exam in May. Can I cancel my exam?
Students who request an exam cancellation by November 6, 2022 will be eligible for a full refund of exam fees. Exam cancellation requests submitted after November 6, 2022 and before April 10, 2023 will be eligible for a partial refund. A $40 College Board cancellation penalty fee will be retained. Students who submitted a reduction price exam fee will forfeit the payment on file. To cancel email cancel@aptsusa.com and include your name, name of your school, the title of the exam to cancel.
Can I change when I take the exam?
Exam times are set by The College Board. Note that AP® Exams must be taken only at the times established by The College Board.

How can I earn college credit through AP®?
If you take the AP®exam at the end of the Spring semester, you can earn college credit by earning a score of a 3, 4, or 5 or the exam. To determine what score you will need at one school, use the College Board’s website: AP® Credit Search
What if I have two AP® exams scheduled for the same date and time?
Students who anticipate a conflict with another AP® exam offered at the same date and time should continue their registration. At the registration point it is subject specific information, not date specific. APTS will provide a report to your school to indicate conflicts and you will be contacted via email regarding your alternate AP® exam date assignment when processed.
How do I receive my scores?
By completing the exam activation process on the MyAP site, you will be issued a unique AP ID number. Scores are usually available in early July by using the AP ID and your College Board Profile log in to retrieve scores at http://apscores.org
Is there financial aid available for the 2023 AP® exams?
Fee reductions are available to students who are currently on the Free and Reduced Lunch Program. If you are currently on the Free and Reduced Lunch Program, the fee is $5 per test. In order to register for AP® tests at the reduced price, please complete the steps below ASAP. If your application is approved, you will receive a Fee Reduction Code. Once you receive your code you will be able to register on the APTS payment website at the reduced amount. Code usage is verified with APTS.
How to Request Reduced Exam Fees

Reduced exam fees must be determined each year and no one is automatically qualified.
To qualify for reduced exam fees, families must complete the LCFF form.

What if I have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or 504 plan?
The College Board must approve any changes or modifications to the AP® exam administration.
Students with a current IEP or 504 plan who wish to receive testing modifications must contact their case manager ASAP. We will work together to file the appropriate paperwork with College Board to allow testing modifications. Deadline to submit an application for accommodations to College Board is January 18, 2023.
