This is hilarious I just posted a vent about them. My friend Heidi loves hers but I set mine up today and I paid the extra cash for the premium, which is really nice but the damn thing keeps freezing up on me and taking forever to load. HAHA. So I guess my impression is that it's been a pain in my a** so far but I have been told it's worth it.

I know that if you are putting your WHOLE honeymoon on it, you will probably have to pay for it in advance and then reinburs yourself with the $ you get for it. Our travel agent is the one who told us about it and thats what happened to them. A lot of ppl put $ towards it but they didnt get it until the wedding. We are just registering for our excersions we want to do while on the honeymoon. So hopefully we will get the $ at the wedding and be able to take it on the honeymoon. Or if we dont open gifts until we get bak we will spend our $ and put what we get back in our accounts.

Hm. I wonder if it's the site? I decided to register for our honeymoon along with our other 2 registries because we didn't really register for that many things so I thought this might round it out.

Ya, no. The money gets put directly into your bank account right when the donation is made. There is no waiting. The reason you would have to wait, is that most people wait until the day of to make a transfer, at least that was my experience. It did pay for our entire trip though, and the site was great. You do need to have the most updated version of explorer or it won't work.

Hmm ok thanks analy. I chose the credit card and paypal options for my guests.

We have registered at honeyfund and so far we have received really great feedback from our friends and family. They seem to love the idea. We are not registering anywhere else so it will be interesting to see who actually uses our registry and who decides to just spend money (or unfortunately buy something we do not want). I actually bought the premium package on honeyfund and to be honest I can't really tell the difference between the premium and the standard (except you get a photo slideshow with the premium). If I did it again I would not have bought the premium.

Yeah we are going to Jamaica so the starfish scene is fine to me.

Yes, what analy said. Its not that they hold your $ just most ppl dont transfer it until close to the wedding. And Im not sure about everyones honeymoon, but we have to have ours paid in full a month before hand. The lady who was telling me about it said they got a lot of cash and checks also that were for the honeyfund on the day of thier wedding.

@Libra, we're going to Jamaica also. Did you see the Appleton Estate rum tour? We're registering for that We were going to go to Kauai but FH thinks an all inclusive would be better so we changed our plans. I've been checking out the jamaican tourist site looks pretty cool!

I used honeyfund and it was great!! We went to Aruba, but paid for the tickets, etc before hand, so we didn't set up the paypal account. A few guests (5) put money/checks in an envelope and mailed it to us or brought it to the wedding (card box). We used the money towards the final balance on venue and for our honeymoon activities. The rest of the guests said they forgot to use the website, but intended the money to go towards honeymoon.

Well I haven't sent out the bulk of invites yet but out of the 13 or so sent, the 10 or 11 that have responded have been yes. This is good news but not if all of those invited say yes. I'm trying to cut the guest list down about 20 people and its not happening. I know this isn't honeyfund related I am just rambling!
