  • You’re eligible for Humana Medicare Advantage dental coverage if you have original Medicare (parts A and B).

Humana offers dental coverage under many of its Medicare Advantage plans. Read on to learn more about Humana Medicare Advantage plans and the dental benefits they offer.

Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans are offered by private insurance companies that contract with Medicare. They’re required to cover all the same things as original Medicare (Part A and Part B) — and many of them cover more.

This additional coverage often includes dental care. Some Humana plans include dental exams, X-rays, and cleanings at no extra cost. Other services require copays.

Your dental coverage depends on the type of Medicare plan you have. Before you enroll in a Humana Medicare Advantage plan, make sure you understand its dental benefits.

Humana Medicare dental coverage can include:

  • two dental exams per year
  • bitewing X-rays, usually once per year
  • panoramic X-rays, usually once per year
  • two cleanings per year
  • fillings
  • root canals
  • crowns
  • tooth extractions
  • dental care after an illness or injury
  • dentures
  • orthodontics

Humana’s optional supplemental benefits

While many Humana Medicare Advantage plans include dental benefits, you can also get additional dental coverage with a Humana optional supplemental benefits (OSB) plan.

You can enroll in an OSB plan at any time of the year to add supplemental coverage to your Humana Medicare Advantage plan.
