Wattpad

I started reading fanfics when I was ten by accident during online learning. At first I was just reading fanfics of my favourite book ships. One time I found a book that had quite a lot of NSFW content. I was fine with it though because it was one of the only ones under the category that I read. You can filter out things you don't want to read or limit it to the things you do.

I love this site and if your child reads smut and inappropriate things, that's on you. Wattpad is a platform just like YouTube, various games, TikTok, ECT. Moderate what your kid sees because Wattpad isn't all that bad. Also, your 13+ kids are probably already watching porn, you can't keep them away from it forever.

Wattpad is a fun app for reading and writing and even making friends. I enjoy it a lot. The things that people need to watch out for is: —Sexually explicit content (tons) —Haters or spammers —Bad role models The things that are good about this app are: —Good for making friends! —Good for writing and receiving feedback on your writing, good for reading other people’s works of writing —Nice people I think you need to be sure that your kid is trustworthy and will pick content that is appropriate for them. They need to know how to block people who spam them or share inappropriate content. But other than that, it is a very fun app and I love it! I would definitely recommend it for older kids who love to write.

You can't keep telling your children to read and then complain about the app. First of all, it is possible to block explicit content, all you need is to do is press a button, the feature exists it's not ¶ornhub. Second of all, to blame the developers for the explicit content your child might be browsing shows how much of a parent you are. If you raised your child right there would be no room for those things in their life and would be talking to you about it without fearing you. Before you say something like "a child can't tell a parent how to raise their child" you have to remember that a child is a human with feelings and pains. Not a toy you get to move around to show off. We are the ones you take care of and we get to rate your parenting, not you.

I am a reader and a writer on wattpad and I have grown to really enjoy the app. I give a solid 13+-14+ because lets be honest your 13+ child attends school,games,friend activities,sleep overs and most likely your child has learned a thing or two you haven't told them. Wattpad has some great stories and yes the occasional smut stories and romantic. But in my opinion its your teens choice on what they decide to read. Talk to them let them tell you what they know dont force it though. I recommend letting your teen explore and see what they find.

I started using this app not too long ago, and I really enjoy it. There are so many great stories and you can dive into what interests you. It very much depends on the maturity of your child, for example, there are sexual themes, drug related scenes in some books that might shock or frighten your child. Rather than not allowing them to have this app, have a conversation with them and/or put restrictions on the app. Other than that I really think it’s a great app and would recommend to anyone :)

Wattpad is a great way to get yourself to read!! Some stories may be a little too advanced or mature for certain audiences, but there is definitely something for everyone. The range is very large from fanfiction to horror to romance! It is so addicting... absolutely love Wattpad!

Wattpad is a real hit or miss. Some writing on here is the most well writen original stories that can pass off as real books, some is fanfiction that takes a fandom and elevates it tenfold, some is pure porn, and some is something a 6 year old would write. Typically, smaller but not dead fandoms have the best fics. My only gripes with the app is how many ads there are, and a slightly bigger issue is how terrible the tagging system is. You can't filter tags and not everyone tags everything. You could think your getting romance and suddenly the main characters pregnant. It's good if you know what you're looking for, but ao3 does everything better.

I recently got the app a while back and I've really enjoyed it. But keep in mind that there are a few risks. (Like porn for an example). But, it's not hard to block those kinds of fanfics. Just tinker with the settings.

As a wattpad user (and writer) myself i don't think this should be ristricted to 18+ yes there is smut but I have no intent on writing it and the mature tag on the discription tells you alot. DON'T READ A BOOK WITHOUT LOOKING AT THE DISCRIPTION FIRST. The discription with contain the trigger warnings for the book so you don't get hooked on a bok or fan fiction and then have to stop reading because there is smut, fluff, angst, or violence. Blocking people is very easy too.
