Student Emails/Passwords

For parents of students in ​​​​​​grades PK-3:

  • Please contact your child’s classroom teacher for your child’s username and a temporary password.

  • Then go to cps.edu/portal and type in the username (make sure you are using just the username - the part before @cps.edu) and temporary password. Click on the eyeball in the password field to make sure the password is correct.

  • Click on Sign In and a message should show up saying that your password is expired and to CLICK HERE to change it.

  • Click the CLICK HERE and change the password to something you will remember. From here it is like a regular Gmail account and any teacher emails will be in the inbox. 

For parents and students in Grades 4-8: Students who do not know their passwords can use the self-service student account management portal at cps.edu/portal to reset/change/set up their accounts.
