A word from NOT our sponsor: Razer mice

If you are looking to buy a gaming mouse…
Just a quick word of warning AGAINST Razer mice.

While I do quite like the feel and options of the Razer Deathadder Elite that I am using now…

It’s always very very VERY annoying when, every now and again, I need to “enter my password” (to my mandatory Razer cloud account) (password which I forgot of course, because it need at least 8 character, 3 symbols, not be in use, blahblahblah…) to continue using my mouse… Because of stupid web update…

So here you have it, save yourself hassle, don’t buy Razer…

Every gaming mouse I’ve had broke within the year I bought it. They can’t stand up to my iron grip of death.

That can’t be real, no vehking way ahahaha

Logitech has always served me well, I’ve never had any problems with mice or the keyboard.

I have a razer mouse and I’ve never had to log into anything to use it…
Edit: I’m quite certain its a deathadder too, i’m not at home so I can’t just look at it real quick.

Yeah, I have the same issue with the Nvidia app. So annoying.

I also have Razer Deathadder Elite. I’ve only had to log in once. Maybe it’s a corrupted software issue on your end?

I loved my Naga, until I had to buy my third itteration due to a predictably timed (i.e every 1.5 - 1.7 years) they just stopped working properly. One just flat out stopped powering up, one the dredded double click, and one where the left most button stopped clicking at all.

I switched to Logitech for their 602 and their 502. both work well and have lived (Despite my kitten’s wrath)

i have a razer deathadder and i’ve been auto login for about 3 years now. it logs me in when i boot my computer

I hate this too. For some reason everytime I boot my PC I have to log in Razer Synapse again. And the thing feels like it gets an update every 40 minutes or something.

Luckily, I don’t have anything Razer except my keyboard. I kind really like how the Ornata Chroma feels like. I don’t use macros or anything, so the only downside to not logging in is getting the default lighting settings.

For mice, I use both the Logitech G502 and SteelSeries Rival 600. Both are exceptional mice. I recommend both. If you have a bigger hand, I would go with G502. If you have a smaller one, you might find the Rival 600 better.

While I haven’t used Razer hardware (except a non-USB headset that doesn’t need special drivers), this sounds far-fetched. It makes perfect sense that you’d need to log into a utility program like Synapse, but that definitely should not prevent your mouse hardware from working.

You similarly have to log into Nvidia GeForce Experience to get the driver updates and such, but you’re not staring at a blank monitor trying to blindly sign in, because your GPU hardware doesn’t require signing into the Windows utility program to function.

Hmm…

I am using a Mamba Wireless right now, and I have never ran into this problem.
So…

This legit sounds like a you problem.

As if the drivers and stuff weren’t annoying enough, Razer’s quality assurance is garbage. i wouldn’t trust anything of theirs made after 2015.

Logitech G403 is just a better version of the Deathadder anyways. Nearly identical shape, cheaper and less obnoxious maintenance.

What?
Do you use custom DPI setting and DPI change button?
You need Synapse for that, and Synapse need a cloud account…
Or it does for me!

same question… do you change DPI on the fly?

Same… but a couple of time Synapse didn’t start and I had to log in.
True it hasn’t happened in a while…

I am thinking about it now, because I have a new PC on the way… and it bother me to just think I will have to go through “forget my password” just to setup the mouse…

By accident with the buttons, yes. But not a manual setting for DPI, no.

I also changed my original post. I may have vague recollections of logging on once?

Razer hardware is good, but the software is not.

Solution for me, is put the software on my laptop, and load the profiles onto the on-board memory, then use it on my PC.

Still can’t understand why people are still buying mice for 6 times the price they should be (such as Razer, Logitech, etc.), but hey… There’s a reason why Apple is somehow still on top…

Update to Razer Synapse 3, I think older versions caused password issues but you should be good with the latest version.

That being said, I switched to Hyper X myself.
