Two options…sort of. There are two Meijer credit cards: the Meijer Mastercard, which requires at least good credit for approval, and this store-only Meijer Card for people with fair credit or better. But there’s only one application, so unless you opt out of consideration for the Mastercard, you will be evaluated for that first. Aside from their credit requirements, the two offers are pretty much the same. You can compare the two Meijer cards and check your credit score for free on WalletHub.
Only good in certain states. This is not to say the Meijer Credit Card is all that good to begin with. Rather, it will only work in Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Kentucky because Meijer doesn’t have stores anywhere else. You probably knew that already, but it’s still worth pointing out.
Underwhelming rewards. The Meijer Store Credit Card offers $10 off your first purchase, as well as an ongoing discount of $0.10 per gallon on Meijer gas and $10 in store credit for every $750 you spend overall. That might sound pretty good, but the best store cards offer at least 15% off your first purchase and 5% back on all purchases. And the best gas credit cards offer 5% back at any station. Gas must be $3.64/gal. for Meijer’s offer of $0.10/gal. to yield 3% back.
High APR. The Meijer Credit Card’s APR is higher than the store-card average of 30.16%, according to WalletHub’s latest Credit Card Landscape Report. And while its lack of an annual fee makes the Meijer Card about $22.29 per year cheaper than the average credit card, that does nothing to distinguish it from other store cards, hardly any of which charge an annual fee.

The Meijer credit card should offer better rewards than 10 cents off a gallon of gas and a $10 gift certificate for spending $750.

I paid my October payment on October 2nd. It went through my checking account on the 9th, Near the end of the month I was told my payment is late. Then told me to pay. I talked to two different customer service people. I was given a fax number and told to send my bank statement. I did exactly that. This month-they are staying I didn't pay my October payment. I went to their chat and started to explain the situation. I was told they couldn't help me. Then shut off the chat. Where did the money go? .

Im at a Meijer store and previously had been approved but found out today the entire credit card program has been cancelled by Meijer. This is two weeks before Christmas when I was just starting my Christmas shopping. I also have a Walmart capital one card and now plan on buying everything at Walmart instead

I have had a Meijer credit card for over 5 years. Never late on a payment, NEVER. This past year I was paying it off each month. They reduced my credit from 1500 to 150 said my Experian score dropped, when actually my Experian score had gone up. Unless you are making them money on interest, you get penalized. Stay away. I mostly used it for the 10 cent gas credit at the Meijer gas station. Not worth it. I cancelled my account

I did not have a good experience with them. Yes I signed papers to agree to fees but when I matured and had a goal to pay it off to improve my credit score it was hard to make any progress because of the fees.
Even though I was making payments on time and not using the card so I didn't rack up more debt they wouldn't help me. You either pay it off in full or you rack up fees like $50 worth each month on top of what you owe.
I called them and was nice at first but I got no where. One of the many reasons they do not approve someone to have their interest lowered is if they are not actively using the card. I could have paid the thing off quickly without the fees. Please be smarter than I was. They are not a company that will work with you.

I was in complete shock that I got approved. I have been trying to work on my credit and now I am even more inspired. Thank you Meijer! I have not used my card yet but I plan to use it for items I would buy anyway, things that are needed. This will be a great cushion to fall on especially as we get closer to Christmas. I really appreciate this!

Bait & switch!! Meijer gives you the OPTION of the store card & MasterCard at signup. I have a 750+ credit score; a Visa AND MasterCard all in good standing - never missed a single payment and Meijer gave me the crap store card!! When I called and inquired why, they said "If you're not eligible for the MasterCard you'll be checked for the store card" -- I was never given advance notice of this and did NOT WANT THE STORE CARD. It's not a real credit card, you can only use it at Meijer! Be warned: If you apply for the MASTERCARD you will end up with the crap store card!!

I have been going to Meijer for years and the day I finally agreed to open up a store care was probably one of the best decisions. Signing up on the first day was met with a 10% discount which came in handy because I had over 100 dollars in merchandise. The card was very quick to come in the mail as well, which I was informed would happen by the cashier. Good thing about this card also is you get money toward that goes towards Gas, which is awesome because there is a gas station nearby. Overall, including the lower interest rates, high grace periods, customer service availability online and over the phone, getting this card was a no brainer! I would recommend all my friends and family to also get this card!

Always been a big fan of Meijer, it's like Michigan's personal version of Walmart/Target.
This was the first card I ever got, not quite a credit card but still a big step for me. I did it back when I bought an Xbox 360 for the 10% off promotion and was approved pretty quickly despite not having much of a credit history.
Since then I use it occasionally when I forgot my debit card or cash at home. It's easy to use, the terms are favorable, and it's a great backup option to have just in case.
It's a good card to have overall, Meijer for all the complaints, is a good company filled with good people and this card will not let you down.

I originally only signed onto this card to receive the 10% off coupon because I was going to be making a large purchase and figured the coupon would be useful. The coupon came instantly, just as promised, and saved me a lot of money on a new TV. I didn't really use the card for awhile, and really only used my other cards at meijer, and every now and then used it when they had promotions for using the meijer card. Recently I have been using it a lot more because of the large grace period and relatively low rates, and have noticed they are far superior to other store cards. A pretty good card, but no great.
