Absolute rubbish does not work

Absolute rubbish does not work , links don’t work and customer service impossible .
They do nothing at all to help just generic texts that do not give information .
Are people paying the people who work for this site , if so they should be sacked

Bunch of time wasters been trying to swap for 13 years
Also the website is annoying because they keep asking to change the password reset the password every two months.
Security reasons but it's ridiculous, why does it need to be changed so often.dumb

Hi, while we appreciate that it can be inconvenient having to change your password every 90 days, we have to take online security and protecting your data extremely seriously. This is why we have implemented the 90-day rule which is now very common on websites and is widely regarded as security best-practice.

Been locked out my account as apparently I’ve forgot my password (which I haven’t as I have it written down) so says to make a new password which I have done so and tried to log in and says I’ve been locked out again! Always happens and I feel to not use homeswapper again.

I've been on homeswapper for at least a decade. The user interface is extremely poor and is the reason why it's hard to find a swap and move. Being able to provide video of our homes would greatly increase likelyhood of swapps. It's time for an update it's not fit for purpose

Hi, we’re sorry to hear that it has taken you much longer than usual to find a move. Thousands of tenants swap with us every month but it can take a while to find a suitable swap partner (or multi-swap).

With regards uploading videos, thank you for your feedback. We will add your suggestion to our development list.

Really poor interface

Really poor interface. I have been locked out and have repeatedly attempted to change my password. The website refuses to log me in when I do. Emailed support. No response 6 months + and counting.

Do make me laugh

It seems I've been here forever, people are too picky.
Either you want to move or you don't. What is the point of stating you want to move within the same postal code.
Don't make me laugh.
Also I think the site needs overhauling as the user interface experience isn't as smooth as it could be.
Last moan, I was approached then went to check out the area of the other swapper.
We were about to arrange viewings and then they stated they had made a mistake.
If I had another choice I'd be gone gone gone.

Hi, thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately how swappers behave away from the website is obviously beyond our control. However, if you have any specific suggestions regarding the HomeSwapper user interface, please do pass these onto our Customer Support team. We’re always looking for ways to improve the experience for our members.

cold feet syndrome with house swaps these days...

I've been on this site trying to swap my house for literally years. People write to me saying they're interested and then when I say I am too, they ghost me. I just cannot believe how many times this has happened. I have a nice house and garden and all I want is to move to a different area and I'm even prepared to downgrade considerably, and still no luck! I think that people are more afraid to move since lockdowns and covid. In the past, I swapped my property several times over and it took around 2 months each time to find a successful swap. What is going on? I feel as though I am never going to get a swap :(

Hi Emma, thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately how swappers behave away from the website is obviously beyond our control but we do sympathise with how frustrating it must be.
Please don’t give up as thousands of members do swap every month although it can sometimes take a while to find that perfect match.

Not a good start to my new Homeswapper account.

I have said I'm serious about swapping. I've replied to BOTH messages sent to me.
All of a sudden I'm
"Only looking" and "respond to 50% of messages sent to me.
This is FALSE and misleading. Not happy at all.

I have left 5 clear photographs.

Stick with it...

Stick with it - it's a long long process with lots of ups & downs but I've successfully swapped twice in seven years so it really does work.
Thanks HomeSwapper - I've now found my forever home in a lovely Sussex village 👍🏼
I've given 4 stars because not all landlords use the sites built in swapping facility that starts the process automatically. I was unaware of that so it delayed my application by two weeks.

Hi Jill, thank you for your feedback and we wish you the best of luck in your new home!
You’re right, the online application facility (“SwapTracker”) does make the whole exchange process simpler and more transparent. More and more landlords are joining this every month so hopefully everyone will be able to benefit from it in the future.

preparation is key

Have a tick list of your water gas and electric account numbers and the contact details. [phone email etc] important to let internet services you are moving so that connection in your new place can be booked so I was only one day without the internet and know the existing providers in your new place. Maybe a to do tick list is helpful including what is the refuse /recycle days. It is hard work and can be overwhelming. Effective communication is key. Have everything packed a few days before and boxed and labelled as part of the prep. This makes the transition easier. You have to kiss many frogs to find a prince which translates you often have people to come and see your place and vice versa with no movement which can be disheartening however things will pan out. I would say it will take another 4-6 months to get some order and settle.

Unbelievable still has the older…

Unbelievable still has the older homeswapper app, that do not agree with later Android phones. Since June this year, unable to search for any properties on phone.
There seems to be only one admin staff there who is absolutely useless.
Today found another glitch, do not even allow you to save properties, what next! And pointless asking support staff, absolutely useless.

Hi Joy, the Android app is no longer available to download and we recommend you use the mobile website instead.

The mobile website has lots more tools and features to help you find a successful swap. It also has no known issues, works on any mobile device and is updated regularly.

Initially seems easy to use and a great idea.

However, it is a bit soul destroying.

You can only respond to people who contact you and cannot contact anyone whose home you might like ( apparently you are supposed to be able to, as long as you have replied to all your messages)

However you can't and customer services are no help.

Good idea, but doesn't work.

Hi Maria, we’re sorry to hear you’re having problems with your messages. As long as you have the 100% Reply badge (for replying to all messages in the last 30 days) you should be able to start new conversations with swappers. If this is not the case, please contact our Customer Support team again with the details and we will ensure this is investigated further.

Its works..

To be fair, i swapped in the past, circa 2010with someone and now looking to swap agajn. Yes the website is a bit basic but you only have to use it once to get into contact with somekne you can mutually agree with. Ppl must be thick as fook if they thjnk they are going to be able to 'trade up' from a crap flat somewhere. There is a housing crisis ppl after many years of right wing governments so wind yr neck back it. Homeswapper can only facilifate exchanges if possible exchanges exist. Get with it.. 🙄🙄

fake, data collection

Fake. The accounts held are from the council and locals to data collect.

No one actually transfers . ive showed interest in swapping tenancies with a few ads. all of which ironically all lived on the same street as the current property.

Its for ad revenue probably f*** all and
local "community workers" and coucil to gather info .

Hi, we’re sorry to hear you’ve not had much success so far. Thousands of households do move every month using HomeSwapper. We have multiple processes to ensure that homes advertised are legitimate and that swappers actively respond to their messages and log in regularly. If you do have concerns about any specific homes advertised on HomeSwapper please feel free to use the “Report” tool. Thank you.

Really easy

I found the home swapper site to be really easy to use! I found my swao within 3 weeks of being registered and we moved within 3 mounths so a very fast process this was due to me messageing aroung 300 plus homes a week and really not being fussy as long as it met a few simple asks! Thank you so much homewapper!

The site is good

The site is good, it's just the people. Everyone on this site is in the same boat you live in a council property it is not yours it is rented! The problem is when you have one tenant occupying a large three bedroom house on there own and have lived there for twenty odd years and will not give it up,this is what is clogging up the whole system. They need to remember they do not own the property. So they need not to be selfish and pass it along to tenants with families who actually need them. And also the tenants who think there property is a palace and think they can demand a house with a pool and stables and ten acres of land need a reality check you live in a council property!

Very helpful site

I used the site to swap into my existing property and found it easy to use and good for messaging other tenants. This time I have found a swap via Facebook but my experiences on the site while looking have been positive.

I think some people here need to realise it is not Homeswapper's fault if the people they message have not replied or if they haven't had much interest. Put lots of info in, add lots of photos, make your property look nice and you shouldn't have issues!! If the photos make it look like an episode of Hoarders you probably won't get offered good swaps.
