Furry Amino is a community on the social networking and chat app Amino. It was founded by Lepus Lied and Zombyeen on June 10, 2016 and released to the public on June 15, 2016. As of May 2018, it has over 220,000 members.
Furry Amino has a standalone app released for iOS[1] and Android.[2]
Services and features[edit]
Furry Amino shares its features with that of any other community hosted on the Amino platform.
Furry Amino allows users to make blog posts, quizzes, polls and share them with the community.[3] Users can follow one another and see the posts of the users they are following directly on their timeline.
Public and private chats are both supported for instant messaging. Sexual content of any kind is disallowed on Furry Amino.[4]

History[edit]
On June 10, 2016, Lepus Lied posted the first blog to Furry Amino.[5] The post was last edited June 15, 2016
In June 2016, the first curator applications were opened.[6] On June 21, 2016, nine curators were chosen. Dizzy, Sammy, FoxesLoveCake, Erik Ortega, SchoolHouse Croc, SleepyKitty, Novahurr, Lynn, and early retiree Pascow.[7]
In January 2017, applications to become curator were opened. After receiving over 500 applications[8] five users were chosen to become curators. The new curators were Cooper, Cyclone, Maki, Sprrigs and Sun-Dial.
On February 25, 2017, Team Amino banned Fluffy from Amino, who was at the time a leader of Furry Amino. As a result of this, the entire community was placed on probation.[9]
On February 28, 2017, Furry Amino reached 100,000 users.[10]
On March 4, 2017, curator applications were opened with the intention of promoting six new curators.[11] On March 20, the six new curators were made part of the team.[11] The chosen curators were Dirge, Dear Ambelina, Holt, Nubtail, Starz and HuggleHugBug.
