Total piece of junk bank. They took $500 from our checking account little by little with "service" and "dormant" fees that they never bothered to send us any notification about until finally, when there was no money left in the account, they then had the audacity to finally mail us a notice that we owed them another $8 on top of the $500 they took. Worst bank ever. Avoid at all costs.

Avoid their credit cards. Had my son's card updated for Bahamas travel last week. The ship said the card was declined. This is the third time this has happened (shame on me). Called back and they still couldn't get it fixed. I quit using their card 10 years ago and got a Discover, and it works great. Can't select zero.

Do not bank with Cadence Bank! They make it extremely difficult to withdraw your money. My mother began banking with Cadence Bank when they took over her original financial institution. She passed away in June 2024 and had several accounts with Cadence Bank, which included checking, savings, IRA, and CDs for her grandchildren and two daughters, all designated as payable on death. They would only allow us to withdraw the money in person if both parties, my sister and I, were present. The issue is that we do not live near a Cadence Bank branch, and they know this. Each time an account matured and needed withdrawal, my sister and I had to plan trips from two different cities to facilitate the transaction, which was highly inconvenient and time-consuming, causing a loss of wages from our jobs and incurring travel expenses. One grandchild lives in another state, and to receive his beneficiary funds from the account in his name, he must appear at the branch my mother used for her investments. Finally, the bank demands that my 11-year-old son, a named beneficiary on a CD, be present so I, his mother and legal guardian, can withdraw his funds, causing him to miss school. Every other financial institution my mother utilized (two others) was accommodating and helpful with this process; Cadence, not so much. I understand the policy and regulations, but the inconvenience this bank has caused and the difficulty in withdrawing money has been stressful and prolonged, especially as our family continues to grieve the loss of my mother. Nine months later, the bank still has four accounts we cannot close for the above reasons. Warning! Do not use this bank!

BEWARE! There is something going on with this bank, particularly the branch in Sherman, Texas. I noticed discrepancies in my account balance. An $8,000 unauthorized withdrawal was deducted from my account. Luckily, I caught this; it had gone unnoticed for three weeks. The bank said it was an oversight on their part. The money was deposited back into my account. Now I'm on high alert. I noticed that three weeks before the $8,000 incident, there was another withdrawal of $3,000 made at the bank. It had another customer's name on it, with supposedly my signature and account number, deducted from my account. A back office somewhere will look into it, I was told. There is also a $1,000 withdrawal that has come into question. All withdrawals were made at the bank. The bank said this happened because another customer had visited the bank prior. Another oversight on their part. The bank said the amount, date, and account number were correct; only the name was incorrect. I called the customer whose name appeared in question on the withdrawal. The customer states his banking routine does not consist of withdrawals, only checks or deposits. There is no reason the bank would have had a prepared withdrawal slip with this customer's name for two reasons: 1. He fills out forms entirely. 2. His normal banking routine does not consist of withdrawals. The bank's response was simple—oversight on their part, and they didn't catch the conflicting information on the withdrawal, and they had also made an error when they prepared the slip ahead of time. It should have been a deposit slip. All that being said, I was called and notified a cashier's check was waiting for me. My account had been closed. WHAT!?

So the bank is down; they change policy on overdraft regularly and make up rules. You are supposed to be able to deposit same-day cash, but they charge you anyway when you do. And now we have no access to our money for three days. But we are supposed to be patient! Worst bank ever.

Supposedly, this bank has locked all our account activities and isn't explaining what's happening with our money. Just wait for them to get around to depositing your hard-earned money, which is supposed to be automatically deposited from my job. The bank can't provide any information; therefore, the bank does not operate independently; someone else makes the calls for this bank. So, your money is not really your money. Do not trust any banks with your money ever, especially this bank. I've had nothing but problems with fraud, which a bank should be able to prevent from being taken fraudulently. However, no bank can guarantee this; therefore, it's unreliable. Don't bank with Cadence; they are disappointing.

They got the part working that takes money out of your account but not the part that give you credit for automatic deposits
Sorta just works in their favor

I wish I had read reviews sooner. I needed a new debit card due to puppy issues on November 27th, 2024. I went in, and the agent changed my address to ship my new card. I went back on December 17th, 2024, and learned the original agent in November never ordered my card. This agent said that with the holidays, it could take longer. It is now January 17th, 2025, and I still haven't received my card. When I emailed, there was no answer. Chatting on the app was not possible as their system was down. When I called, no one answered.

No ATMs locally; I have to drive 15-20 miles to make a deposit. This is very inconvenient. I am ready to change to a credit union or any bank that has ATMs locally.

On 12/23/24, I was asked by a teller what I was going to spend the $10,000 on that I was attempting to withdraw. I replied that it was none of their business and I've never been asked by a banker what I was going to spend my money on. However, 4 days prior to that, I deposited a $26,000 government check from my deceased husband's retirement fund. On that day, I took out $6,000 and bought my nephew a car. Today, I was attempting to pay for a new air conditioning system in my home in Alabama and put my 90-year-old father-in-law in a condo on the beach for the week of Christmas.
The bank replied that they had put a hold for 10 days on the check that I deposited 4 days ago and that it wouldn't be available to me until after Christmas. I was appalled; not only did I have to cancel my Christmas plans with my father-in-law, but I also had to make the air conditioning company pause the project until after Christmas. I was trying to take my 90-year-old father-in-law on a vacation for 5 days, and I had to cancel all that because I bank with Cadence Bank. I've never been treated like this at a bank in my life.
So, if you actually depend on using the money you deposit in the bank, I wouldn't use Cadence Bank. It was the worst experience at a bank I've had in my 62 years of living. I will close this bank account the day after Christmas and go back to a bank I'm familiar with. At first, she said it was because of suspicious activity. I asked her what credentials she had to judge that and deem it suspicious activity. She then changed her tune and said it's a 10-day hold on a check, out of which I had already withdrawn $6,000. What kind of bank does this? A Navy retirement check, and Cadence Bank ruined my Christmas.

Cadence imposes a daily deposit limit on business accounts which is paralyzing. I've had it approved and increased four times, and it keeps being reduced without warning or reason. You cannot reach anyone who has the power or ability to resolve this issue. It's so frustrating. I'm changing banks as soon as possible!

I've been a loyal customer with Cadence Bank for over a year now in Texas. They were informed from the beginning that I am an OTR Truck Driver and that it is my business. However, today was the second time they locked my bank card without my authorization! As a result, my automatic bill payment for three important bills could not be processed, and now I have to pay late fees because of Cadence Bank! When I called to tell them about this issue, after speaking with three different people, the last person informed me that they had sent me a text message indicating my card was locked. That's completely unacceptable to take control of my account and dictate how I spend my money and where!

At Jonesboro, Arkansas Main Street branch, they kept me waiting for 15 mins outside during regular business hours on Wednesday (July 24, 2024) at 3:30 PM. They kept the lobby locked. I called them from my car as iI could not get inside. After 15 mins they opened the door. The lady opened the door and seemed like I was unexpected at their bank. I wanted to open an account. I had three forms of IDs (Drivers license, US Passport, school ID) and a utility statement showing the residency. Upon giving the SSN, the lady said she must need the original SSN card. A picture was not enough for her. She was not professional at all. I recommend not to do any business with this bank, especially at the Main Street branch in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Her supervisor was next to her and didn’t advise the lady to do it right. I went to another nearby bank and they welcomed and happily opened a new account. Too bad! Cadence bank lost a new customer. Folks, stay away from this bank if your color is different from them. Higher management should investigate this issue and take appropriate actions..

WARNING: Cadence Bank will cancel your homeowner's insurance and raise your premiums without your knowledge. Do not trust them with escrow; handle everything yourself.
I had the unfortunate experience of finding out that in 2023, Cadence Bank cancelled my homeowner's insurance without notifying me and force-placed a more expensive homeowner's insurance policy on my house, which is mortgaged with them. They did not consult me or send any notifications about it—they even confirmed this.
I have definitely learned my lesson to never trust them with handling anything on my behalf and will be paying all insurance and taxes independently. I would highly advise you to never use their escrow services, as they may violate your trust and unfairly take your money like they did with me.

This will be lengthy! I tried to recapture my youth with a trial subscription of this supplement, which I will call NewGenix. I attempted to take the ten days' worth of pills that were full of caffeine, at no cost but I couldn't. Made me sick. They sent me an email saying my bank wouldn't pay for the first months sunscription, I figured that sounded good to me and thought it was over. It wasn't. The supplement people kept trying to take the money out of my account, and I didn't know this. Well when i got paid my bank sent them the money. $82.50 for a month's supply that I never wanted or had not received. Two weeks went by. I complained, and the bank got me my $82.50 back. In the meantime, when the $82.50 came out, my insurance went through and I had an overdraft. Still, I hadn't received anything from Nugenix. But I got my money back, and it made my account overdrawn by only two bucks. Well, I received a letter from Cadence Bank saying they were going to reverse the payment. I failed to produce any evidence. I still didn't receive anything from Nugenix nor did I want it. What evidence did they want. I started the ten day trial with a text. I cancelled the subscription with a phone call. Still hadnt received anything from nugenix nor did I want to. Two days after i cancelled the subscription I received a month subscription of Nugenix. The ten day trial period had been gone for a couple of weeks. And Cadence Bank reversed the $82.50 payment. I chucked the pills in the trash. I called Cadence Bank. They wouldn't get my money back this time. I can look at all the steps Nugenix took and it's easy for me to see the crooked method they used to steal my money. If Cadence Bank can't see the cheesy way Nugenix manipulated their system, then they aren't looking or they were in on this scam also. In my opinion cadence bank is starting to do business like regions bank use to. I personally can't afford an $80 loss. Needless to say, I'm switching banks tomorrow. The placement of their building here is horrible. If you go with this bank, the service is second-rate. This bank can and will survive losing me as a customer. That's great; I wish them well. I just hope they weren't in on this with Nugenix. All you've got to do is look at all the steps Nugenix took, and it's easy to see how fraudulent their method is. I sure hope I can change banks before Nugenix asks for more of my money. I'm worried about what I may do right now. There's no telling how mad another $82.50 will make me. This isn't taking care of your customers that trust you. Bank somewhere else. Just one dummy's opinion. Douglas Harold Morrow, Paragould. May as well change thier name to regions bank instead of Cadence
