Horrible to deal with! Ryan Homes sold my mortgage to them, and it was nothing but a miserable experience. I could not view my account or pay my mortgage online, as I didn't have an account with them and they are nowhere near me. Mortgage statements get mailed out very late in the month, so once received, I need to make a quick turnaround to ensure it gets paid on time. Customer service representatives are apathetic and lack a "Can Do" attitude. Never again!

You're better off obtaining a loan through a reputable source than dealing with Dollar Bank. I've made payments for years via autopay. Once, I had to turn off autopay for a month but still made my payments online. However, because I didn't select the correct option on the app, I was charged late fees, as the money was applied to the principal balance and not counted as the monthly payment. I escalated the issue to their customer service but got nowhere. After two years of disputing this and incurring thousands of dollars in late fees, I begrudgingly paid double for one month to resolve the issue. Even when I've called to confirm the due amount and paid it, a week later I receive an overdue notice with additional fees. When I call, I'm told to disregard these notices due to processing delays, but the following month the late fees appear again, and the cycle repeats. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone. This weekend, I'm withdrawing all my money from my accounts and planning to refinance my home with another bank, even at a higher rate. This is all due to the sheer difficulty Dollar Bank has created in trying to pay off a loan. Seeing that others share this issue in reviews is no surprise. My credit score has been negatively impacted because they continuously report late payments.

Fraudulent bounced check fees. I have been with this bank for over 25 years. I have had direct deposit with them the entire time from the same employer (every other week). Now, they are charging bounced check fees when money is put on hold, not when the money is deducted. No 24-hour forgiveness either. I have received checks from class-action suits against them for questionable charges. I'm tired; money is too tight to deal with this bank. I will be moving my accounts.

Was totally misled on my loan. Ended up being $500.00 more a month. Loan officer Brittany and Branch Manager Lucas, both with the Moon Township office, were extremely rude and not helpful at all when I was trying to rectify the situation. Will never use Dollar Bank again.

Dollar Bank will ruin your credit rating. They consistently report that you are late on your credit card payments even after you've paid off your balance and closed the account. You can log in and see a zero balance with no payments due, yet they still inform the credit agencies that you are late on payments. This issue persists no matter how many times you reach out or what actions you take. It's unacceptable and seems to have no resolution in sight. Clearly, the staff at this bank lacks the expertise needed to manage anything beyond basic savings account deposits.

Opened a business checking account with this bank at a local branch. When I tried to log in to the online banking, the system was asking for ID information that was not given to me by the representative who assisted me with opening my account. I also had trouble using the ATM card. I went back into the branch later in the week to explain my issue. I was assisted by the branch manager who was of no help at all. The manager was very nonchalant, as if they did not care, and did not offer any resolution. I was told to call customer service. I plan to take my business elsewhere. I wish I had looked more at the reviews on this bank before opening my account.

Switched from PNC and it has been the worst decision. Slow transfers, charged hundreds in bogus overdraft fees, terrible customer service, and the list goes on. Don't feel like a valued customer; never did from the time I reluctantly opened the account several months ago. I will no longer be a customer; I closed the account yesterday.

Interesting that DB has no rating category for customer service. I am a 72-year-old man with laundry to do. I stopped into DB to get four rolls of quarters for the machines in my building. The teller said I had to have an account. Outrageous. Understandable for a store or small business, but a bank?! If chartered by the US government, don't they have some obligation to service government-issued currency? And what about ethical and moral obligations to the community? Shame on you DB. No wonder you are struggling. You will not be missed.

Worst bank ever. I tried to make a Zelle transaction, and because of it, they froze my funds for five months for fraud investigation. Not only that, they froze my disabled daughter's account as well because I am the payee. It is super ridiculous to freeze my daughter's account while investigating the validity of a transaction in my main personal account. Once the issue is resolved, I am shutting down my account and my daughter's account for good. Never do business with Dollar Bank; avoid the hassle.

I have been with this bank for over 20 years and because someone tried to make a deposit into my account, this is the second time they have shut down my account 1500 miles away from home, leaving me on the road with no money and holding my direct deposit. I'm going after Dollar Bank with an attorney to the fullest extent. The first time they shut it down was because I used my card at Home Depot. I would not recommend this bank to anyone, especially knowing I have no family. Twice they stranded me in Texas, and they hold your direct deposit until something goes through so they can charge you several overdraft fees. I have recorded every phone conversation. I sent everything to my attorney. I also have a slander case against them because of the disrespect and ignorance of their employees. I don't recommend this bank to anyone.

I used to work for dollar bank and I am also a customer and have been for years. They are very outdated. Almost all banks that I know of offer 2 day early direct deposit and also peace of mind where if you overdraft you have 24 hours to make bring your account back to zero or a positive balance and you will not be charged an overdraft fee. The last few months I have been having issues with things coming out of my account early and noticing an overdraft and clearing it up immediately and dollar bank still takes it upon themselves to charge an overdraft fee the next day causing another overdraft. They are money hungry and customer service is useless. I went into a branch last week and was told since I cleared up the overdraft prior to a fee being issued I shouldn’t have to worry about the fee. The next day a fee was applied, thankfully I had gotten paid that day or my account would have been negative again. I left dollar bank as an employee in 2019 and at this point I will be leaving as a customer because I am over it.

Very poor bank. Ok if you are just looking for basic average bank. I had a Verizon scheduled for same day as my direct deposit goes in. Verizon pulled money hours before direct deposit went in and they charged me with a NSF fee. Called them and most banks would just wave this especially being fist time. OF course dollar bank doesn't do this because they are a basic bank who does not take care of customers.

You literally have to be rude and ask for a supervisor to have a fee waived that’s what I had to do and it shouldn’t even come to that. I’ve explained I used to work for the bank and I know what can and can’t be done and I was not taking no for an answer

Saver beware. With all the programming out there Dollar bank can’t or won’t text u a warning that u fell below their $20k limit. For over 10 months they withdrew $25 from my savings account. Granted I should have checked my monthly reports but who looks at a savings account. They politely took over $250 out of my savings. Funny how they manage their low bearing savings account to know when you exceed the $20k and they text you when any activity occurred on my account even when they give their 0.18 cents monthly interest. But they NEVER sent me a notification when they removed $25 from my account. The branch did credit me 2 months but said they were not able to go back any further than 60 days. When I contacted Pittsburgh customer service they said they couldn’t do nothing for me. The encouraged me to talk to the branch because they can go back 90 days. Pittsburgh customer service could only credit me on insufficient funds. Wait I have the money and they are taking from me, but they are giving the person who over drew their account a break. This is pure corporate greed. Dollar Bank doesn’t put their customers first. Another odd and disturbing thing is your checking and savings accounts have the same number. This is frightening. Once some has access to your checking account they have access to your savings as well. I am closing my 3 accounts!!! I am posting this on all my social media accounts.

The Dollar Bank Low Rate Credit Card mainly uses TransUnion to check your credit when you apply, though Dollar Bank may use Equifax or Experian instead, according to anecdotal evidence. So, if any of your credit reports are frozen, you should unfreeze them before applying for the card.
Key Things to Know
The Dollar Bank Low Rate Credit Card requires excellent credit.
When you apply, Dollar Bank will perform a hard inquiry on your credit report, which might temporarily damage your credit score by a few points.
If you're approved for the card, Dollar Bank will report information about your card usage and payment history to Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion once a month.
Your major credit reports contain nearly identical information. If one includes negative information, the other two probably will as well.
It's a good idea to check for any mistakes on your credit report so you can dispute them right away.
The Dollar Bank Low Rate Credit Card credit score requirement is 750 or better. That means people with excellent credit have a shot at getting approved for the Dollar Bank Low Rate Credit Card.
Note that while your credit score is an important factor, there are plenty of other things that will impact your chances of being approved for the Dollar Bank Low Rate Credit Card, too. Some other key criteria include your income, existing debt load, recent credit inquiries, number of open accounts, housing status, and employment status.
As opposed to other checking accounts, the Everything Checking account earns interest. You can compare all checking accounts here: https://www.dollarbank.com/checkingandsavings/checking/compare_checking_accounts.aspx .
