GRADING, MIDTERM REPORTS & JUPITER ED

At NYC Lab Middle School for Collaborative Studies we use a trimester grading system. Students will receive a course grade at the end of each of the three marking periods. These three course grades will be averaged together to determine the final annualized grade for the course. The annualized grade is what will appear on the student’s transcript.

Grading

Each grade level course is required to have the same grading policy. All grading policies will be shared in the course Curriculum Letters. These letters are distributed at the beginning of the school year and reviewed at Curriculum Night. Families should review these course policies.

Midterm Reports

Students and families will also receive a Midterm Progress Report about halfway through each trimester. These progress reports will be shared through Jupiter Ed and printed for those families without computer access.

Jupiter Ed

Jupiter Ed is our online grade book accessible to families and students. Jupiter Ed will be utilized in all courses that receive a numerical percentage grade. Type of usage will vary by course. Teachers will communicate expectations directly with families. If you are having trouble accessing your Jupiter Ed account, contact Assistant Principal Matt McGinley.
