Racor develops Compact P Series fuel filter/water separator
with pump for small diesel engines

hen off-the-shelf parts sim-
ply will not do, the Racor
Division of Parker Hannifin
works with original equip-
ment manufacturers (OEMs) to de-
velop specific solutions for unique
filtration challenges. Many customers
contact the Modesto, California, USA-
based company once they’ve realized
that conventional filters aren’t provid-
ing the results they need for their par-
ticular machine application.
The most recent example of such
collaborative development work is a
new Racor filter system engineered for
small diesel engines. The Compact P
Series fuel filter and water separator is
designed for diesel engines sized be-

The company is investing £10m (approximately US$12.6 million) into its U.K. en-
gine plant to allow full production of cylinder heads and blocks for the first time.
Improved machining centers not only boost capacity to 45 000 engine sets per
year, but they also give JCB complete control over DieselMax engine design, with
projected improvements to efficiency and productivity, the company said.
The investment is partly a response to overseas demand for JCB DieselMax
and EcoMAX engines. Third-party sales have increased by more than 325% from
2012 to 2014 and almost a quarter of the engines JCB produced during 2016
were supplied to external customers.
