I subscribed and paid to receive a…

I subscribed and paid to receive a product key for their application, by using their subscription button. I received a confirmation of the subscription, but no way to access the product. There was no product "Key" within the email. I wrote to them asking for my money back, but they refused, saying it was my responsibility to ensure the product worked on my system. But there was not way to access since they provided no product Key. I would recommend against using this service.

This is a reply to biz in the box comments below.
The subscription was paid thru email brookXXXX1 (X represent hidden characters for an email for privacy)Order ID 501700750 the original product key was:
25A14-XM2EC-DCWBG-5LXXT-6C3U8

Because the original computer was replaced a new product key was necessary. The purchase was made using a card owned by the above email using your purchase gateway.

After the said purchase of a product key, we received an invoice showing the purchase ( Order ID 501700750) But no product KEY. A request from a refund was made from the above account.

Copy pasted an excerpt from your response:
"Please note that you can cancel the yearly renewal at any time, but the Business-in-a-Box subscription is non refundable. Before making your purchase, you were required to create a trial account, which did not require your credit card information. The trial account allowed you to preview each template so you could make an informed purchase decision. We also offered free samples so you could verify that the documents are compatible with your device. Because of the nature of our product, we unfortunately cannot offer a refund period."

This is the user and not Sylvia. The user is the account holder. The not fair part about this is that you do not provide a proper means of upgrading a product. And the you do not accept responsibility for the error in your shopping cart process. You were asked for a refund immediately after the error on your website. You deny a refund and then try to make it seem like it's the users error. Totally unacceptable.

Our product is an online subscription, and does not require any product "key". If you purchased a Business in a Box subscription, you would have received a sales receipt containing access information. Furthermore, we would never tell you that it is your responsibility to ensure that the product works. That is obviously our responsibility. Are you sure you're reviewing the right product? We cannot find any recent purchase under the name "Sandor". Please contact us at support@business-in-a-Box.com or call us at 1-866-383-4100 so we can resolve your issue.

Edited to Add: Your responsibility as a consumer was to ensure that the product was what you expected before buying. A simple email or call to our Customer Service team would have clarified the situation. Instead you requested a refund without giving any details why, then gave us bad reviews on every platform you could find UNDER A FAKE IDENTITY. I'm sorry Sylvia, but this review is completely unfair and undeserved.

They promise you a free template

They promise you a free template. After subscription (give your email) they ask money for money

Reply 1: No, I visited your webiste. Just make it very clear on your website you have to pay for templates before people subscribe, it's annoying. It was not clear to me.

We're sorry for the misunderstanding, but we make no such promises. We ask for your email for a trial account. In that trial account, you can preview all the templates, and you have several free ones that you can download to check the formatting on your devices. If you try to download one of the templates that is not free, you will be prompted to purchase a subscription plan. Maybe you have us confused with some other company?

it gives us good support to refer…

it gives us good support to refer various forms i.e. agreements, contracts etc on various topics in a simplest way. Such a useful tool I believe in coming time it will be more useful at various levels of corporate.

Hit & Run

I've purchased your product for the last 5 months but I'm to used it as I don't know how to go around your program. I seek a working paper to setup small oil refinery to cater the need of small community of 1 million population.
After 5 months of purchase, only very recently that you acknowledge my purchased.
I trully belived that knowing your portal is actually being scammed.
This is my sincere opinion developed since buying your product!!!

With a systems restore BiB supposes to stay installed on PC, not uninstall causing me to have to pay UP again in order to get it up and running

The are "topics missing in BiB, such as Work Orders. The customer gives his.her short instructions in writing / signs before workmen / handyman starts doing the job. It, this work order must also reflect conditions under which job is done/paid etc.

Documents are totally disorganized and…

Documents are totally disorganized and duplicated. The same documents are located multiple times in the same folder and even more times throughout the whole business-in-a-box.

I have been working through it downloading many of the main folders only to find that I am downloading the same documents 10-15 times.

Its an organizational mess and will take 20 man hours to sort out and make useable. The only real way to find what you are looking for is to type it in the search box.

Thank you for your feedback. We are aware of the duplicate problem and are currently working on fixing the issue. It should be resolved within a few weeks. Note that some documents are relevant to various subjects, so it is normal that they would be shown in more than one folder.

Complete and utter rip off

To all business owners:

Business-in-a-Box is a crock! nothing every works after you pay $800 for using the software the magic disappears. I thought it would be a handy tool but, nothing works and all I'm ever given is a non working application and constant reminders to upgrade and renew--even though I have. Great concept Poor performance.

You suck Business-in-a-box!

Pass entrepreneur and now a key…

Pass entrepreneur and now a key employee that deals with management, HR, marketing and mostly project leader with more than 3 years using this software wich pays itself off within 1 use if you think about it, it saves you from having to retain an attorney to draft up simple documents. Also make me look good with my employer!!!

I just bought two new PC, and reached out to Business in a Box to ask how to transfer my license key and super quick reply and the update was done in a flash. Now that`s service!!!

Instant Access = Instant Regret & Lies

Give email address for Instant Access... is a lie. Other reviewers mentioned this and yet this dishonest practice is still in place.

Any company that needs to lie to obtain client information, simply can't be trusted.

We understand your frustration as you expected to use a free trial in the most common meaning of the term, and were then naturally disappointed to be restricted in the use of the product.

The proper definition of "Free trial", however, is "a temporary offering intended to provide market information by allowing consumers to examine, use OR test a product prior to fully committing company resources to a full launch."

We allow our users to preview each template without any strings attached, but we cannot do this without having you create an account. We do not ask you your credit card for the free trial, so you don't have to remember to cancel before your trial period runs out. Because of the nature of our product, we need to protect it with a username and password. I'm sorry if you felt that was dishonest.

Worth every cent

Used this program to extract clauses from Supplier Agreements, and it's Worth every cent paid for.
Saved me a lot of time and insured I had well written clauses to cover me for some unforeseen circumstances. Definitely helped me produce a much better contract than what I could have with just searching internet, that's for sure.

I took advantage of a recent sales…

I took advantage of a recent sales promotion with considerable savings. I had been looking for legal and business documents for our consultancy. There were more categories and templates than I found with another site.

With the vast number of categories and templates in each, I am able to support our clients in a productive and meaningful way, and also run our business more efficiently.

There are many templates that are spot on and comprehensive. There may be times when an attorney may be needed for a final review, but at least I’m not paying more for them to write drafts and create something new. A savings for sure!

very disappointed

I bought the Lifetime package Business-In-A-Box in 2018 after 12 months my License key was not valid anymore so I could not use the templates at all but was directed to "buy". I contacted support and customer services by mail and phone (at least 5 times for the last three weeks - no answer - no reaction - no nothing €299.- down the drain. BEWARE (i keep on trying to get the license key or a refund - if unsucessfull I will certainly consider legal steps

Rest assured that your license key is still valid. It's possible that the program lost activation after an OS update. All you need to do is reactivate with your product key. If you're getting an error message that the product key is invalid, there might be a typo or a hidden code if you copy/paste from a PDF. Try typing it in exactly as you see it, all letters capital and make sure to include the hyphens. I also suggest you take the opportunity to download the latest version of the software from www.biztree.com/download before you activate. Was having some issues with my purchase…

Was having some issues with my purchase plan. Ms Cinzia D did an excellent job helping me get all my payment information together. I had email issues and login issues as well. It was an error on my end that I overlooked. However, she went above and beyond to make sure that I was set up and walked me through everything. She was so pleasant and quick. She knew her way around very well. I felt comfortable seeing as though it was my first time signing up with this company. Thank you so much for making this experience a great one.

The Document I needed to download was the Retainer Agreement

The Document I needed to download was perfect, it had all the information I required.
The payment checkout is tricky, be aware the amount displayed on the website is for a month only $24.99 but be aware you are billed for a year subscription immediately - I was shaken when the amount went through my bank. There was no option to view the full amount on the checkout page before accepting payment, it was so quick. Business-in-a-Box needs to display the full annual amount on their website page so there is no misrepresentation.

Excellent value for the price

Not only is it very comprehensive and of a high quality in terms of content, it also represents fantastic value for businesses of any size. I'm not sure how I'd do without it – it’s worth its weight in gold and paid back for itself many times. You will save MONEY and TIME with this software.

Product Key not working

I purchased Business in Box Pro in 2008 with lifetime update as an extra cost. A product key was sent to me back then but not a licence number.

I have obviously changed computers inbetween and since the change I am unable to use the product becasue it either asks for a Licence number or a product key. When I capture the product key, it tells me that it is already in use.

I sent emails to both support and sales but never get a response. Not sure if they are still in business or not as there is dead silence on thier side.

I purchase the programme in January…

I purchase the programme in January 2021 paying a 1-year subscription. Today, tried to log in but refused access. When requested a link to change the password received a link to my spam folder, but unable to get access to change the password. Sent an email to the sales without success. A GREAT SCAM !!!!

Unfortunately we cannot control what goes into your spam folder, and when an email gets sent there, all links are stripped and you cannot use them anymore. What you need to do is mark the email as safe, and move it back to the inbox. I also suggest that you request a new link, since they expire after 20 minutes. Make sure you use the last one you receive.

Also note that we answer all emails within 24 business hours, most of the time faster. Our answer likely was also sent into your spam folder. If you are still having issues, I suggest you give us a call at 1-866-383-4100 (free call in North America) or +1-514-768-4100 from anywhere else in the world. Our business hours are M-F, 9 to 5 Eastern Time. We were not able to find your account with the information you gave here, so we have no other way to reach you.

Not happy with your control over me

When I buy software, I want complete control over the doc.s I create. Specifically, when I create an offer letter or a dismissal letter; I want to be able to save the doc. in the electronic personnel file I have for that employee on my hard drive including any other correspondence I have that requires the use of one of the doc.s. I do not want to have to save to a file within the software only. Mostly because the software is "clunkie" and slow, takes way to long to open and navigate through. Additionally, since I've bought the software, I DO NOT want to have an advertisement for it to be my landing page or operating page.

Hi Craig,

It sounds as if your Software reverted back into Demo mode (Pro users don't see ads). You should be able to save all templates outside of Business-in-a-Box. You would just need to use the Save.as feature and change the file type to .doc or .xls.
If you need us to resend you the product key, please email us to support@biztree.com. Once you've activated the Software all features will be enabled again and the ads will disappear.
