Intranet Launch Videos and Teasers

This video is more about the intranet project than a real launch video, but it shows some interesting screenshots as well as requirements and deliverables for the intranet.

They had a very complicated intranet which was simplified (this appears to be a trend), and employees were accessing it from multitude of devices, so catering for that was one of the most important aspects of the redesign. I see some SharePoint things.

This is a different teaser, with an extended overview of the different sectons of the intranet. This intranet is meant to connect all global employees for all hotel brands. Very colourful and modern-looking.

Hilarious animation about the new Digital Workplace for Argos, a British general products retailer (stores and online) . It is all Microsoft (SharePoint, Office, Yammer). The animation borrows from Star Wars, Star Trek and even the Thunderbirds. And this Digital Workplace features a cat, selfies, and BYOD. It is a bit on the long side, and a bit over-the-top, but pretty funny, and to be honest, I wish I had a DW like this!

My Blue Rooster is the intranet for Blue Rooster, a consultancy helping large companies to collaborate better. The intranet is very focused on facilitating working in projects and collaboration. I assume it is based on SharePoint although they appear to have tweaked it a bit :-).

When you start watching, you may think something is wrong with the video, but be patient and all will be well. :-)
It discusses the usual advantages of any (social) intranet, such as sharing knowledge, finding expertise, connecting with others, etc. One sentence struck me: "Everyone is both sender and receiver of information", which is a very good explanation of the essence of a social intranet.

The "Deltion Portal" is based on SharePoint (I see SkyDrive and the familiar ribbon).

Deltion College is an educational institute in Zwolle, the Netherlands.

CocaCola Enterprises not only has a mobile intranet, but it also has created a separate launch video for it! It looks purpose-built and has those functions that you may need when you are on-the-go, and the user interface matches the limitations of a smartphone screen. Well done, and thank you for sharing, Jonathan Phillips!

Brand new intro video from Coca Cola Enterprises. They have relaunched their intranet with a new look and feel. It is a bit more colourful than the previous version which was overwhelmingly red.

Largest part of the homepage is taken up by video and news but there is also room forr Quick Links, a social feed, and a "more" menu which looks very much like the hamburger icon. Nice touch!

Interesting look into Accor's intranet, which is social, responsive, global, and based on a hybrid Microsoft environment.
According to Virginie Sido the most important things is not knowledge in itself, but access to and availability of relevant information. This intranet is meant to connect all employees of this global hotel chain worldwide.

A demo of the new US Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, intranet. It is meant to reduce mass emails and printed newsletters, which is a good thing, although I would expect something more social in an intranet launched in 2013. Large menus, teamsites for collaboration and document storage, and quite a small organization because the voice-over mentions specific people who can help you with support.

This is a demo for Turuncunet, the intranet of the Turkish branch of the Dutch ING bank. It is based on SharePoint, I conclude from the ribbon. :-)

Various functionalities are shown, such as Weather (!), News, Forms, Search, Calendar, Photo Galleries, departmental information and documents. The ING social network Buzz is visible, but the presenter does not show that.

Very nice animated teaser for "The Terminal", the intranet of Qantas. Mobile and social, the concept looks pretty modern and integrated. They have 5 main areas: The Terminal (homepage and portal, I guess), MySite, SkyDrive (now OneDrive), TeamSite and Yammer.  Special thanks to Catherine Grenfell, who made me aware of this video.

This is a mix of animation and people interviews, to prepare employees for the new intranet for Enactus Germany. Most people in the video are talking about "IT", "SharePoint", but not much about the "softer" aspects of an intranet.

It will be based on Office 365 and will be very helpful for projects, and the advantage is that you will have everything in one place, and everyone will be able to connect with others. You know the general benefits of any intranet these days :-)
